What have you done to your Tacoma today? 1st Gen Edition

Just took a drive with it off. I'll probably be putting it back on once I get my RTT. I see the benefits but I don't think I do enough wheeling to justify it off. I probably wouldn't mind much with the stock bumper but I with my new bumper it feels super unstable when attempting a quick maneuver to avoid something.

I'm sure the extra weight of a tent up top would only make it worse too.

 

Put 1100 lbs (22x 50lbs bags) of concrete mix in the back of my truck today. The dakars were about half way flex'd. Wasn't too bad. Mixing it with a shovel sucked though lol.

Sit in a Recaro seat ~8 hours a day at work. Stiffest seat ever....

 

Stiff is fine, so long as it's safe. And all research says it's the best...

 

As expensive as they were and considering they're in front of a bunch of computer screens, I don't feel that it's needed... Haha

 

If I didn't want to put it back on in the future I would have done that already.

Me too...lol. I just don't like the way it handles on the road now. I think I could handle it as is, but I know with an extra 130lbs of tent on the roof it will be a lot worse. We'll see, I may change my mind. I'm going to drive with it off for a few weeks before I get my tent. Wait, maybe months the way the GB is going...haha.

 

I think my truck rides so much better with no sway bar. There's a little more body roll, especially after going from eibachs to 881's, but the ride quality is no comparison between on and off. Big difference over expansion joints at speed on the highway, potholes, etc...

 

I kept my sway bar in the toolbox for about 4 months after I removed it.

After the first time I went wheeling in New Mexico I threw it in the dumpster the very next day haha

 

Mine's sitting in a pile leaves behind my house. Those stupid endlinks were all frozen. Cut them off, pulled the bar and never looked back

Put some SRQ2 lights on my bumper. The picture kind of makes them look like they'd get hit easily off-roading but they're tucked away pretty well. Didn't have to do any wiring because it uses the same harness as the D2 lights. Really they're the same lights just in a different orientation.
