    About 2:30 it stops for a while.

    At around 7 minutes in, that's clearly something shaking, not static like the beginning. Play it at 8:00 and it clearly goes from just something shaking/rattling to static.

    Some quick research tells me that it was an issue and the update should have fixed it. Otherwise you'll need to return it....

    Double check what firmware it says it has when it turns on. If it doesn't say 2.00 then it needs to be updated and should fix your issue.

    Hmm, I'd try re-installing the firmware update and taking some more quick videos to see if the problem goes away.

    1. Plug the gopro into a computer or put the memory card into a computer.
    2. Delete EVERYTHING on the card.
    3. Re-download the firmware from the gopo site and follow their directions.

    Try recording multiple short clips in different settings. Another near the truck while it's off, another when it's on, then another with the wifi off and away from any other electronics. Small possibility that it could be getting interference from something over the wifi that's interfering with the mic.

    If the problem continues after this, you may have a bad gopro unfortunately....

    The way I see it I shouldn't have to do all that stuff with a brand new product. I don't have much time to fiddle with it unfortunately right now. Might try some of that later.

    For now though, I did shoot gopro an email with the video link and explained everything so we'll see what they have to say. And crap I just realized I forgot to include that it has the latest version. Dangit lol

    Agreed. But it could very well be a corrupted firmware install that a re-install could fix. Nothing anybody can do about that...

    I'm just too stubborn and would rather do everything I can to fix it before sending it back and impatiently waiting for another one haha

    The reason you have to update it is because they release updates fairly often so from when it leaves the factory it has the most current software, you buy it a couple weeks later and there has been an update or 2 since.

    It does sound like you have a problem with your camera though. You said it happens when the truck is off too right?
