I wasted money on the yeti tiedown stuff on my atv/camping/hunting trailer and just use ratchet straps now cause it's easier. I don't think I will buy another yeti cooler since the grizzly coolers are a lot cheaper, also usa made, and can be opened while strapped down with a 3 dollar ratchet strap.

the camping isle at walmart has the same damn straps as the "yeti" straps except theyre $5 not $50.

honestly I was dead set on the Yeti but after watching some you tube reviews of different coolers this morning I really really am starting to like the grizzly coolers. The features, colors are awesome.
I didn't think my mind could change but I think I might have.

    Cooler-related question

    1. Empty water daily since water causes remaining ice to melt sooner.
    or
    2. Don't empty water - you're pouring away "cold"

    Opinions?

I always keep the water…always. Just my opinion but I have seen so many test on how the fastest way to cool beverages between (putting in fridge, putting in freezer, putting in a cooler/bucket full of ice, or putting it in a cooler/bucket full of ice with water) and the cooler with the water won every time. Just my $.02

but if you have water sensitive items I guess pouring it out makes sense. I am talking more about just drinks.

Thanks, that was when I finally decided to do the drive test on it

Theres a rock behind it I used to get up on the lid.
& it must be the pic that makes the tires look twisted different ways, that was silly ifs for you.. Ill get a new one for you guys one day when I get a smaller cooler (whatever brand) and put one up front and the other on the opposite side rear

I saw the Grizzly cooler at a place local to me and loved the tan/granite looking lid! But for some reason I haven't seen it anymore at that store, unsure of why but I liked it! Way I see it yetis have been out long enough for other companies to pretty much 100% replicate them with subtle differences as to not infrenge on yetis design so in a sense or imo they are all about the same, sure the "tests" may show the cheaper igloo one to hold ice longer but for me I like the durability aspect of yetis or other like brands which I never got with the cheaper coolers, either the hinges break or the handles etc. not having that with the yeti after 3 years or s with it now

All together.....I'm gonna eventually order another bracket and run the chain/lock through it so I don't have to unlock it to get a bottle of h2o.

I just put in in the shell and lock it, no windows on my shell so low risk of break in. I use it for the dogs frozen raw food, and pack it with Dry Ice first. Keeps everything very frozen for days.

My wife thinks it's overkill BUT I would catch hell trying to replace it if it gets stolen. She is 7 months pregnant. Lol

I have never gave it any thought as I've always dumped the water. But it makes since to leave it. I will give it a try for a while. Seems like the cold water with ice would cover more area of the beverage container than just ice would. Makes sense I guess.
