    Hey guys,

Within the next couple weeks I intend on purchasing a new tacoma. I have narrowed my choices down to either Spruce Mica Or White. I really like those two colors on this truck and I do not see many like that around where I live.

With that said, for those who own white tacomas, or really any other vehicle for that matter, Do you regret getting white? I think white vehicles, especially tacomas look great when they are clean, but I know road tar, bugs, and so forth may really stick out on that particular color....maybe I am wrong?

Just looking for comments on the subject and those who have this particular color and your experience with it...

The F150 I drove before the Tacoma was white, new tacoma is MGM. Love the new taco, but white was a much easier to take care of/clean. You won't regret it.

    Build thread coming soon!
My Spruce Mica was nearly white. I was able to get the dealership to submit the change to the plant just in time.
The biggest drawback to white that I've found is that the bug guts can make an otherwise well detailed truck look filthy. I'm not sure how bad they are in Ohio, but here in east central Alberta as soon as it cools off after supper in the summertime you can drive on the highway for 20 minutes and the truck will look like it hasn't been washed in weeks

I'm the type of person who doesn't want to spend a lot of time doing anything. I have no interest in pre-treating the front of my vehicle with bug gut remover. If it looks clean enough, then good enough. That being said, white shows bug guts like no other color of vehicle I've washed. Other than that, I love white tacos.

White is the easiest to keep looking clean.
Park any dark colors you can imagine along with a white vehicle along a dusty road
and the darks will be filthy but the white will be presentable.
White also is good at hiding flaws, imperfections and swirl marks.

White is an easy color to keep clean. My preference is for others, but if that's what you're looking for (cleanliness) white is easy.

This is my first white vehicle I've owned and never really thought I'd ever own a white one because of the same concerns as you. Now that I have it, I love the color. It's not that hard to keep clean and you don't miss bug spots like you do on the other colors when you wash it. It can get dirty and look better than a darker color like stated above.

This was after 2 trips off roading spread over a month. My girlfriend said I haven't washed my truck in over a month and a half... The tires are super dirty, but other than that it doesn't look that bad. I had a black car before my white truck. My truck has dead bugs, dirt and dust all over it. I didn't really notice the dust on it till I leaned over to get something out of the bed and got my black shirt all dirty lol. Oh I get hit with the sprinklers alot too. Calcium water spots don't show up as bad, scratches are less noticeable too!

Some of what I did out there.

Yeah, my last wash was May 13th I just checked my phone lol!

I like my white taco!! Easy enough to clean. Run it through the car wash every once in a while and you are good to go

My truck is silver but I love white cars. I would have loved a white taco but there wasn't one in Utah or Colorado besides the Baja. White cars I have owned in the past keep clean really easily. Good luck!

Well, you're in FAR NE Texas (Ohio), so it probably doesn't matter. I had a white 07 Tacoma in New Mexico and Texas and now a white 12 Tacoma in Central Texas. Down here WHITE rules because of the summer heat. Nobody with a brain down here buys a dark-colored vehicle. Road haze doesn't look that bad unless you run through some serious mud-coated roads behind a big truck. I do a thorough wash job once a year, usually in Fall, and wax it for the winter. Works for me.

It was funny, For whatever reason I decided to trade my white 2011 PreRunner in because I always wished I would have bought a 4x4. I walked in and told the salesman we always use that I want a LOADED DCSB 4x4 with no option left off. I mean every option you can put on it that is what I want. I just don't want white since I just had a white truck. He said we have 2 on the lot that are loaded with EVERYTHING and I mean EVERYTHING. I said cool... Then he told me.... They are both white.

    Long story short

No problem it's easy I have it washed once a week and if it rains or there is too much dust I make it wash twice a week. Every two or three months I have it waxed just to prevent anything and it looks really nice.

I actually test drove a white one in the morning, then came back with my wife and it was gone. Salesman said he would look around and found one in Colorado. I said I wanted it and by the time he got back on the phone it was gone... Bad luck but I guess it just wasn't meant to be. Your truck looks amazing!

    Thanks.

White is easy to keep clean no doubt. Sucks you couldn't get one if that's the color you wanted.
