They can be made to. Like I said though. I have heard leer, A.R.E. and snugtop all say contradicting things. It makes sense to me that the since the reinforced area is a honeycomb underneath it could crush from tightening the bolts too much or from pulling up on the rack, but as far as spreading out the load accross the topper it makes more sense to have the weight over the reinforced area.

For what it's worth, on my factory new (2012) A.R.E. MX shell, with Yakima tracks, the tracks were mounted on the NON-Reinforced (NON-honycomb) section of the roof. I load it up 150 lbs. on many off-road camping trips and fiberglass is in perfect condition. No problems. As a side note, I recently had a phone call with A.R.E. regarding the reinforced section of roof. I am thinking of installing a small two-way hingeless vent, and wanted their advice. They described the honeycomb reinforced section of the roof as a paper product like cardboard. They said as long as I can effectively seal out water I should have no problems, conversely, failing to seal out water would result in big problems). Google searching for pics of the reinforced section turned up this picture:

I have a leer as well...I was told not to cut through that area...however because all the manufacturers are different, I would contact the specific brand and ask to be sure....

Looks right to me. I am sure mine has some issues cause I resealed it after I got it but am almost positive it had water getting in before that.

The order is in. The shop had a few days of downtime due to some equipment maintenance that I just found out about so they are pushing to get things done for me in a timely manner. They told me turn around time is at 10 days so we will see.

No problem. I picked them up today. I will be shipping them tomorrow. The powdercoater actually had them done on monday but called me and said they wanted to redo them because they wanted to improve the quality. They definitely did a great job.

Little something I have in the works. Making one for my dad's tundra now. My video making skills are a little lacking so go easy on that part.
