my shits stock for the most part and ive had no problem climbing up the knarliest hills at sycamore creek, of course in 4 low and testing out the rear locker. atrac works great too. i eventually want to lift my shit too but need to save the money, i aint going to credit card that shit.

im not bragging or anything and the rugged trail bfg tires are garbage but have done some great offroading even for being stock these tacomas are the shit when it comes to offroading capabilities. but i would have to say on waiting on larger tires, until you do the lift at the sametime. does anyone agree?

i am drawn also to the general red label brand tires and might switch when i end up burning our these stock rugged trail bfgs

but ive had nothing but good luck with bfs and not sure if switching to general is good. anyone have general tires and how are they offroading compared to bfs?

also anyone hit me up send me a pm or whatever if you want to offroad anytime a sunday or a monday? i want to get my truck back out on the trails and just did my 30k service. itching to get these rugged trails in use again to have the excuse to buy more tires. lol

i dont like offroading alone either and rather offroading with members on here who want to tear shit up...

If you're talking about the Grabbers, I would avoid those if you wheel your truck in anything other than soft dirt/sand. I have personally seen how bad they suck once a little bit of water is mixed in with wheeling.

I'm running wheelers superbumps. They don't stop a whole lot of up travel still tho. they are taller, but compress down to about stock. Smoother transition. Has helped some, but I also don't have my full Icon pack. You can space them more I'm sure.

    This. Epoxied mine back on.

Just having some fun man and the fenders removed look isn't bad at all if you plug the holes.
I've only been crawling curbs since 2011, I'm an expert now. Kinda hoping UROC adds a curbs event soon. :D

Well sheeps bridge was cool but unless you have a side by side, quads or just love wash board the 40 miles of dirt road is pretty bad. The river and bridge are pretty awesome though so it made the drive worth it.

I learned 2 things on the trip. My truck doesn't like washboard at all and that jeeps suck. After today I will NEVER own one. The jeep that went with got stuck in the verde. Minutes later 2 yotas, a 4runner and a land cruiser, drove through the same crossing no problem. Then later when we were leaving the same jeeps front end locked up and was stuck in 4wd unable to move. After getting towed up the one 4x4 spot of the trip it got bounced loose or something and was able to drive out. That is until the steering arm (came apart?) broke and they crashed into the ditch. They were lucky it went right because on the left was a big drop off.

Damn that's crazy. I think it's more of a driver thing. I like my dad's jeep jk and it has done really well. I'm not saying id ever buy one but for a toy it's not bad. Only real gripe with it is the insanely low towing capacity. It's less than half of my 2nd gen.

I drove my buddy's wrangler yesterday. It wasn't horrible but the brakes SUCKED! Even stock, it was pretty capable, but he kept stuffing tires

I'm used to my crappy brakes so that could be why I thought it was ok. My dad has the taraflex fox lift on it and some other things like a plate bumper, winch, 35" Goodyear kevlars, ect so I def can't say what stock is like. He got it from the dealer like that as a retirement present to himself.

Well good for him, that's a hell of a retirement present

My buddy's wrangler is an early 2000 and it's bone stock. It was also his first time wheeling yesterday and we took him on some GNARLY shit! He did fine by the end of the day!

He even pulled me off a rock because I got high centered on my frame..... :anonymous: :pout: :angrygirl:
With no skids.... :frusty: The crunching was so loud
