    The air dam increases MPG? I would have figured it reduced it. Also must nullify the effect of the belly panel, right?

    The Air Dam keeps air from going under the car keeping more of our low pressure area on the sides and top where we want it. The Belly Panel effect may be decreased slightly but this is only because less air is moving under the truck, which is what we want.

    Okay, I see. But doesn't the dam create more drag and make a larger object to push through the air? Yes that's what I was talking about but I should have clarified that while I think it makes the underbelly less effective, it would still be for a better overall effect.

    Kind of like two people lifting 200 lbs instead of 1 person lifting 150 lbs, for a ratio analogy. Each person is lifting less than the one originally was; but they are together lifting more.

    The air dam will raise the frontal area while lowering the drag coefficient. The effect will be a larger object moving through the air more smoothly.

    Just picked up this 97 2.7L Taco. Everything on it is stock, 235/75/15 tires, has the A/C and PS, all that. My fill up indicated 24mpg, and my ScanGauge II I am running is similar, stating my to work average is about 27mpg and my from work about 32mpg. I do a 45 mile haul, down and then back up some steep grades (going from 7,000 to 6-something back to about 7,300). The biggest grade drop is giing home, hence the slightly better mileage in that direction.
