Had a good day up in Thurmont today at the Maryland State grounds. Shot 200 clay targets in preparation for the State Tourney next week. Should be hundreds of shooters up there next week, including me.

I've seen guys put it next to the gas cap ( maybe that was the original mod?). I couldn't see water getting up to the bed boxes. If it did I think you have bigger problems than your diff getting waterlogged

You don't have anything to worry about in rain... Its really only when you are fully submerging the pumpkin that any water gets in and it will only get in if that valve purges at the exact moment it is being fully submerged...

Your best bet is to put it inside the bed box but through the top of the box instead of through the bottom... This way you can still use it as a storage box if needed... If you get water high enough to get into the bed box then you have ALOT more shit to worry about then your rear diff... Like your transmission/transfercase... AND YOUR CAB.

    Just my .02¢

Most guys put it there but it is harder to get to because of the wheel well liners.

I don't have a pic or my truck right this second but mine is on the side near the top back. No wheel well lining for me to worry about and I just followed the wiring and zip tied it to them so it looks nice and clean. Took at most 10 mins.
So using his picture if he ran to the same box I did near the gas cap. It would be above the mud "line" in the back of his picture if that's the back of the bed.

Yea thats the rear bed pocket... There is no liner if you were to run it to the box in the center of the bed because you can pull it through the hole in the bed but if you go to the gas cap the liner plays a factor and its a PITA.

I meant all the flooding we had. Just down from my house there was an intersection with almost a foot and a half of running water going across it. That would've been my only way to get to otjer family if i had to and i don't want to not be able to go through it. Thus, i must do the breather relocation. I can see the two breathers in the engine bay, must be front diff and trans, but what about the t-case?

Two breathers? There is only one breather in the engine bay of my truck... Its the front diff breather trans and t case are both directly on the trans or tcase as far as I know...

If you had to do it 1 or 2 times it is not going to kill it... Even the diff breather will let water in from time to time because the fuel line still expands and contracts with hot and cold... Diff gets hot then the fuel line expands... Go through water and it is an instant cool doen and could suck water in on the pumpkin even though it is hose clamped...

Nothing is water PROOF... Just water RESISTANT... I wheeled and played in the mud for a Good year and a half before I did the breather mod in June of last year... Ill be draining the diff at about 50k
