I have a 1997 Taco super cab TRD Off Road with 3.4 v-6 auto trans that is running rough & throwing misfire code for cylinder #2. Any ideas as to what causing it? Changed plugs, wires & a new coil. Swapped coil around & still shows #2. Misfire doesn't move. Compression is good. About 120-125 on all. I'm thinking fuel injector, any other thoughts?

Could also be the wiring to the coil, the computer, the injector, andetcetera.

Do you only have only the one code P0302 or were there others?

    Hopefully its the injector.

BTW, 120 psi is not very good compression. Mines is around 195 psi.

Minimum compressions is supposed to be 145 with preferred being 174+

No. No other codes. It's only got about 90k on it. First time I did a compression test was a few weeks ago cuz a mechanic buddy of mine said it could have a washed cylinder. Doesn't appear to b the case since all have nearly the same compression.

Here are the first three steps listed for diagnosing the code are below (you already did step 1).

I was having a problem on my second gen throwing a code saying 6th cylinder misfire I ended up changing the plugs and swapping the coos and everything. Finally brought it to my uncles shop he tore down the whole motor since he said he just worked on a Taco with the same code and it was a cracked cylinder head. But it turns out all that was wrong was the water pump went out which was causing the engine to throw a code once replacing the water pump the code went away.
