Well long story short I went into kendall of Fairbanks after receiving a phone call from the salesman 95% certain I was going to buy a 2015 Dark Grey limited WRX on the spot. It sold 10 minutes before I got there and their next 7 in delivery were all already sold or automatics with the CVT. After finding out it would take up to 3 months to order one, I was sitting there frustrated and noticed my favorite color access cab manual TRD offroad with TRD exhaust. I test drove it and they let me have it over night. Purchased it the next day convincing myself that if I supercharged it I wouldn't be upset for not getting the new WRX.

Here's a couple shots of the day I got it, all taken with my phone unfortunately.

Mainly just going to use this as a place to put pictures, keep track of everthing I'm doing, and spending so I don't get out of control

Took off the wheel spacers from my 01 and threw them on the 14....

Simple enough but doing it all at once is a ridiculous amount of lug nuts to take off and put back on haha

threw on my gunmetal Ivan Stewart trd wheels. I think it looks a lot better but now I need to put the wheel spacers back on my first gen. The trd off road wheels can't even get far enough onto my first gen with 285/75's without the wheel spacers.

Also thinking about re painting my wheels. might still do gunmetal with blaze yellow accents. 3yby3e4a_1b884521a4cb6b3dc32026dc9ef8bb428fa35299.jpg

Attempted to install my soft topper. Was a little bent from a roommate trying to fit a mattress inside of it on my first gen so it didn't fit quite right. I ended up taking it off unfortunately

Hit 1000 miles, washed it, and took this pic on the way to drop it off for supercharger install! I can't wait but it's probably going to take them two days unfortunately

Jelly you got the spruce. And that they had one on the lot. I had to order mine to get a 6 speed. Bring it down to Anchorage sometime!

It's by far my favorite color on any year Tacoma. I actually went in to test drive a 2015 WRX limited they had and it sold 10 minutes before I got there. I noticed a spruce off road manual in the back just off the truck and ended up buying it! It will definitely make its way down to Anchorage sometime soon.

Supercharger is now installed! What a fiasco that was. Started by dropping it off at the dealer and getting a call in an hour or so notifying me that their original quote of 700-800 for labor wasn't accurate and it was going to be over triple that at 2600$!!!!! I about lost it. It was already something I would rather install myself but would like to maintain my full warranty. So after arguing all morning about the price, calling 10 other dealerships to get quotes for labor (including anchorage), I finally was able to get them to at least match Anchorage's labor quote which was $1500. Still way more than I wanted to pay but unfortunately options are limited up here.

I get a voice mail at 6 pm (when service closes) asking to call them, No response when I call back, the next morning I get a phone call stating that they had not even started the install!! Apparently because they couldn't get into my truck's ecu. This was April 23rd, and they now didn't have an opening for me until the 1st because they were so busy. After fighting with them some more I leave frustrated, go to fill up my truck and notice multiple scratches on my bed right by the offroad sticker, one of which was pretty deep all the way through the paint! I hauled ass directly back to the dealership and showed them. They didn't seem surprised at all and were pretty nonchalant about it all but said that they would fix it.

    20140424_1201411_zps74029ec4_14550ffff593a1a43a5d861cf4ef492b2ae6abf7.jpg

Fast forward to the 1st, I drop my truck off on that Monday to fix the scratch and got it back on Friday after supercharger install. No updates like I had asked for and they tried to put me into a used GMC canyon for the week which I kindly told them to fuck off I'd like something a little better. But in the end, I have my dream truck, supercharged, in my favorite color so life is great!!

!!!TLDR!!!!: Kendall of Fairbanks is just another piss poor stealership (except for Jeff in parts) and my truck is now supercharged which was totally worth all the bullshit!

    Pictures here in a minute...

    Thank you sir!

The day I brought it home I also Plasti-dipped my rear chrome bumper black. Looks much better. The chrome is just so out of place.

    hdr_00064_1_zpszkwxxmyh_2193c8bb4564d9f2a6658191ff7e4121cc2f7dc2.jpg

I also had been thinking of what I wanted to do with my badges and accents. I knew green and black looked good but really wanted something unique but also went well and didn't look too out there. I decided on blaze yellow. I wasn't that convinced at first, but it's growing on me and I'm really starting to like it more than I thought I would. Yesterday I did the badges and front emblem yellow, as well as the grille black.

I also threw on my supercharged emblems with my TRD offroad stickers since they kind of sorta look like they belong there. Those I'm not too decided on and very well could come off in a day or two, they look great from far away but up close not so much...

I decided I liked the look so much I'm experimenting with a few things and redoing my wheels and will post pics when they're done. Let me know what ya think!

Here are some picspics of how it sits now. Dipped the wheels black with yellow trd center caps, dipped the shark fin, as well as the mudflaps. I ended up centering the Tacoma badge on the back and decided it was a little too much yellow for now so decided to take it off. Going to be tinting my front windows and lightly tinting my tail lights/ third brake light. All that's left after that will be to install my FX-R retrofits that are already here just waiting to be put together!

Also I cleaned up the overspray that's all over the mudflaps so they look better than they do in these pictures.

Alright so this weekend I decided to try and go exploring somewhere I hadn't been where the dogs could run free. Ended up just 45 minutes or so away from my house up murphy dome road, I found a turn off onto what looked like a pretty decent dirt road/trail. Followed that pretty slowly along the ridge line of these hills for about 2 or 3 miles until I noticed a turn off elevating a little more that took me right to this ledge with a pretty great view and led to another what looked like an atv trail. Parked the truck and hiked with the dogs another few miles, watched the sunset while the dogs explored. Was a great time and a great reminder that even Fairbanks can be beautiful if you know where to look. Was also fun being able to get my new trucks feet a little wet off road. :D

Tempo the ridgeback is so much easier to get pics of with my phone than my husky. She never stands still!

Also yesterday I tinted my front windows. Looks a lot better I think, and looks more uniform with the factory tint.

    Nice truck and nice pictures!
So you plasti-dipped the rear bumper, did you do the same method / color with the grille and wheels? I really like how that turned out! Can you tell me the exact product name and color that you used?

Thank you! I plasti dipped the rear bumper, grille, and wheels all with the same regular black aerosol plasti-dip that you can get from any home depot, lowes, or most other hardware stores. Amazon as well actually. Took me about 4 cans for all of it. I'm planning on doing my roof as well I think for protection. And best of all, it's always temporary if I don't like it!

Any updates? I just picked up a used 2013 AC, TX Pro in Spruce Mica also... I've been kicking around a few ideas and noticed that yours looks pretty much identical.

You have any plans to paint the grill surround, mirrors or plastic on the front bumper or the rear bumper? I'm not sure what to do with all this chrome
