The crazy thing is you can easily spend that much on Diamond axles front and rear if you're nuts about staying all Toyota

I was lookingin to Currie, spidertrax, or diamond. Probably one of the last two. Don't care about all Toyota. Just want good clearance and a strong axle.

I was told ford 9" style r&p are stronger than d60 r&p... Sounds like bs to me but I dunno?

Can't go wrong with any of those. Dana 60 ring gear is 9.75" I believe and there is a guy on Pirate who has successfully put Dana 70 ring and pinions into a standard 60 housing. Takes a little bit of custom work but then you have the clearance of a 60 and the strength of a 70. There may even be a kit available to install Dana 70 gears too. All depends on your budget and what you want out of the truck as an end result.

Took the truck out today. It did really well! This thing has gobs of flex, I need to put limit straps in for the semi-go-fast stuff. Probably get to that tomorrow. Started on some mounts for the front bumper too since I'm building that next weekend. Also cut the big chunk off the bottom of the 14 bolt since it was hanging me up a little.

Today I got pretty jammed up in the biggest rock pile at Carnegie (local OHV park), nearly smashed my radiator to pieces, got some rash on just about everything underneath, dented the frame, it was a fun day for testing! Basically need skid plates everywhere and real 40's

That's one helluva rock pile for your maiden voyage!

It's been a couple weeks, so how are the brakes holding up for you?

Got rooms booked for the little trip in July, getting excited.

Thanks man. Not really a trail but close enough! Rubicon in a few weeks :D

Yeah I didn't realize how big the rocks were until I was in it. Probably should have aired down too

Brakes are GREAT! VERY happy with the T100 dual diaphragm booster and T100 brake master. Do it! What place did you get rooms booked? And which nights? Saturday the 19th?

Got a front bumper made. Something simple. How often do you see 2 double cabs on 1 tons and 40's in one spot? :D

    Thanks!

Appreciate it! Once I paint it black it could change the whole look of the front end

Booger Weldz (Pirate4x4) old truck. Way more setup than mine! 18" coilovers up front and out back, dual cases, bed cage, exo, the works!

Also might be getting a set of 40" MT/R kevlars soon. The lightest 40" tire money can buy at 86lbs a piece.

Jonathan, can you weigh your tire/wheel setup?? Curious as to how accurate those numbers really are :D Either a bare tire or tire/wheel since we have the same wheels is cool!

Nope! Interior cage tied into a bed cage eventually.
