What Have You Done To Your 2nd Gen Tacoma Today?

seal those holes in the cab up that the boards were attached to. worst rust on my 08' body starts at every single one of those holes.

 

So... I've done a few mods since I posted here

those look awesome. i saw the black ones on an FJ or 4Runner in a pic and they looked amazing.

 

I like the flag pole mod. How did you do that one?

JL Audio Stealthbox and factory molding that has already been cut out for sub box and I will throw in the amp and cables too. $800 (Local pick up please or within a reasonable distance). I can't believe the cost of the molding. The sub box is $799 and the molding from the dealership costs $415.46.

Changed the oil and filter. Fabricated a system to hold three driving lights behind the new grill. Finally installed the satoshi grill I have been working on for at least a year. On which the grill had to be extended (bent out) to accommodate the old lights that I have used on the '79 4X4 K-15, '91 4X4 Nissan Hardbody, and a '96 4Runner before the '08 Tacoma.

They do take a while, but the results are worth the time.
Not to mention the satisfaction of doing it yourself.

installed my BP Fabrication skid plate and made brackets to lower the license plate. Seems the DPS didn't like the fact that they couldn't see the word Texas on the plate because of the NFab light bar

Started the removal of my plastic outer fenders. Opted for stainless hardware, since I have a silver truck. Easier than painting them all, and the colors complement each other I think.

Rubber o-rings under the finishing washers to protect the paint. With everything tightened down, the washers just barely graze the clear coat.

What do you guys think? Keep the stainless, or paint to match? I've only done the back left fender so far.
