So when your putting the cover on the zipper you zip it to is the fixed part of the tent? The half mounted to the rack or whatever? I think I did mine upside down because I got the wrong Annex and all this shit... Damnt!!! Lol :(

I know mine is a Shasta and everything but it should be similar and I know they changed the design some on the newer tents.

Here are a few pics that hopefully help...

Yup - your's is upside down.
EDIT: Idon't know that it really matters though as the main platform of hte tent is the same on both halves
I would suggest getting some silicon and then some plugs/caps to cover over the top of the hole...can't think of what they're called. Help me out here Homie! What are the little plastic caps to cover a screw head called...?

    I don't get what y'all are "mounting"?

Mine came with that little groove already installed. The rib that slides into the groove is also a different color. Mine is a Shasta also.

Are there different (chinese) manufactures of the same tent?

Did you see the edit above? I think that tent should be fine either way - maybe you got the wrong cover? Before you start drilling any holes I would suggest you send some pics to Bobby and explain whats going on. I'm sure he can shed more light on this than we can.

The problem is the guy I bought the tent from didn't have the cover for it so I had no idea that was how it mounted also the annex he sold me with the tent has a zipper so I just assumed that's what that zipper was for turns out he put the latter on the wrong side, got the wrong awning.. And who knows what else..

Well on my tent the main platform of the tent has the same metal edging with grooves for either the annex or the zipper on all of the edges. Unless they've changed the design I still can't figure out what difference it makes which side of the tent is mounted and which is overhanging. The reason I said yours was upside down, based on the pics you posted, was because of the little velcro strap on the side - on mine the velcro is on the "bottom" and the d-ring in on the "top". Don't panic just yet, talk to Bobby.

Oh, and FRP rivet is what I was trying to think of to cover the screw holes (if you do indeed need to remount the tent)

So I flipped my tent over does this look right to you guys? I can see where that piece from the cover slides into the channel? Any info would be awesome I'm tired of wrestling with this thing

So I will try and give some input here but I am not a pro. Mine is a tepui so things may be slightly different as well. Based on the photo, I think it should be flipped still. See the photos below. Maybe someone can chime in that has a CVT to confirm. The only thing that doesnt make sense to me is where the strap for the ladder is located.

    How you have it

I concur - except for the ladder strap. Mine doesn't have that.

why the heck would my zipper be on the top half though? wouldnt it need to zip from the side of the tent that is connected to the rack?

I am guessing the person before you put it there not knowing how to use it. My zipper can be removed by sliding it out of the channel. Hopefully you can do that to yours and move it to the channel on the bottom.
