1971 ,I was young & she was 15 +.. A life of fishing, she was the best freshwater I ever got .

 

Went on a float trip today. Didn't catch a lot, but 5 of them were decent sized. Don't have a pic of the 5th because she decided to fight back and put a hook under my fingernail. Dropped her before I could take the pic.

Damn. I caught a 5lb and thought how I'd probably never catch another one as big.

 

Ive got alot of 6 to 12 but nothing like that one from 71..

 

3rd cast trying out a G2 and this was the end result.

On a crank from the bank? That's a pretty good catch. Where in WV are ya fishing? I'm only a few minutes from the WV line. Always looking for new largemouth spots.

 

Yup I was bank fishing. I was fishing Stonewall Jackson Lake its located in Lewis County. It has been catch and release for black bass as long as I've been alive 25+ years until this year they set up a creel limit due to an over population of bass.

 

Caught this nice spec this morning.

I caught this bass on a hot dog. It was closer to 5 lbs than 4 lbs.



Then I caught this one.... 7 lbs.

 

So they must be offspring of the Fla bass that were put in the Cal reservoir years ago

 

I dunno. I do know that Lake Barrett in San Diego has Florida strain bass. They get big, and they are aggressive.

This is at Vail Lake... not a reservoir. Private lake where one can swim, water ski, wake board, etc.
