I agree it looks way better with no plate. I guess I just follow the law too much. We off-road with a CHP in our group who had his sergeant single him out during roll call for not having the front plate on his FJ.

Yeah I hear you! Luckily mine were cheaper fix-it-tickets. For the lights I was pulled over at 6am on my way back from Ocotillo and forgot to throw my covers on when I left. Pretty pissed at myself.

This^ i dot remember exactly how he said it but one of my buddies who is a cop basicly said if they wanted with our LT trucks they could pull us over for basicly anything on the entire truck because nothing on it is D.O.T. Approved basicly, like our glass, lt kits, shocks, bumpers, tires, rims etc then if u add tint, lights license plate, and mud flaps. I have mine off and the only ticket i got for it was after he gave me a speeding ticket he asked if i had a font plate and i said no. The asshole didnt even walk to check then said he was gona let that slide along with the uncovered led bars...but he wrote me down for both haha

Damn those laws are a lil extreme. In my area on TN, the only laws that we have is the vehicle has to be street legal which includes: seat belts, headlights, tail lights, rear view mirror and turn signals. That's it. We also have no emissions laws. My buddy's dad does a lot of dirt circuit racing and they modified one of his tubed bodied track cars to make it street legal and he drives it all the time. Y'all wouldn't even know what to do if you could build some toys here. Haha

If I can squeeze my 2nd with a 2+ over kit with spacers anywhere I want, then you shouldn't have to worry having a standard 3.5 kit on a 1st gen...

I have a 2.7 with 4.56 gears. Would I have to regear to run 35"?

4.88 would be ideal, but you could get away with 4.56.

I have over 200,000 on the engine. And if I do go 35" should I stay with the 16" wheel or go to 17?

Stay with 16's and spend the money you save on better tires.

So much carnage out at Tuff Trucks today, luckily it looks like Tyler was one of the lucky ones who didn't break anything. I'll post a vid in a little
