Not great. Chipped teeth on the front ring gear. At least I've got like 3 spare sets of gears.

Hopefully this thing will start going back together soon. Front end is torn down and ready to weld the new truss and diff hat on. Then a second attempt at a steering ram mount. And rebuild the transfer cases. And put everything back together.

Yup. Front diff from the buggy. 4.10 gears on a full spool. Knuckles/Spindles/Shafts pulled out so welding can take place.

Pulled the 3rd and saw chunks in the housing. Ruhroh! Haven't even spun the pinion to check the rest of the gear teeth (kinda a moot point).

It will be nice to know more of the equipment history. Unsure when this was damaged for sure. The rear should probably be checked also. So basically one fell swoop, the tally so far is...
-tcase front output shaft (chromo upgrade)
-dual case adapter splines probably twisted to the verge of shearing (upgrade to 23 spline with new adapter and 4.7:1 input gear)
-further bent front driveshaft and "torn" flange (spares?)
-broken ring gear (spares)

Probably start slowly welding tomorrow and working on the tcases while letting each stitch cool. I've got another complete front axle in the garage, a complete rear in the back yard and another complete rear at a buddies place. All of them should be factory 4.10s.

I had thought about "1-upper" comments recently regarding smashed exhaust and something else. But it ain't cheap/easy to play hard. My muffler is above the tcase skid/crossmember and it is mutilated. And one of the tcase housing bolt that isn't the lowest position was chewed up enough to need vise grips to remove.

Easy jet was solid for me. I can't stress enough to only have one carry on though. They charged me 50 $ everytime I flew with them because I had to fit everything into one. All because I couldn't put a damm backpack under a seat.
