Mrbeggins popped over today, gave me a bunch of help with my winch rebuild. Free spool lever works super smooth. Haven't hooked it up to power yet, but it should be way smoother now! It was ugly before and still isn't perfect, but it's cleaner and has fresh grease now. Im stoked.

So I'm glad it's back together. Need to rear seal it tomorrow then put it back in and test it.

Other stuff to do this weekend-
Reinstall winch and front end/test/redpoll winch
    Front brakes
    Rocklights
    Engine oil change
If I can get all that done tomorrow I'll be happy!

    Holy shit

    Does this thread suck?

    No activity

    Got more done today,
Finished cleaning out and greasing my winch. Sealed it then put it back in, freewheel knob turns out and free spool works. Then put my front end back together.

Then went to my front brakes. When I tried to push the pistons back on the driver side caliper, one of the four pistons were seized. So I needed calipers and they were in stock locally...awesome. Put those baby's on and the front brakes are good to go.

Hmm guess I will go with factory then. I need to bleed my system again to, sligthly spongy after rear disk install and all new lines.

These brakes are hard to bleed. Bleed it then let it dig then bleed again

So I went to buy some rigid duallys today. Went way out of my way to go get yhem. Got there and the guy has the lights. ...with no harness. Wasn't about to spend that muh on lights without a harness. As soon as he said there was no harness because it was "still in his car", I handed his lights back and said thanks for wasting my time bud, and walked out. This is what I was I said in my head

Nope, that 50" roof light bar is for sale and has been removed. That was just for the one trip. I decided I would ruin it anyway before too long with all the spots I get into.

Cochrane Toyota hooked me up right! They are the guys to see if you're in the 403. They carry rigid in stock at a great price. Gonna go back and get some dually d2's.

Did it happen to be the lower piston on the driver side that was seized? I ask because I had two calipers do this in the dame place i less than a yr..

That's the side that mine seized as well. Which is odd because I'm a first gen. Must be a Toyota thing

Any contaminants in the caliper collect in the lower piston causing them to seize first.

well, mine took about 25000km to shit out, good amount of dirt and logging roads, some not so heavy playing on rocks, avoiding mud when possible and still shat out. are a lot of ppl having this same issue? it seized on me while on the hwy, took a lot of throttle to get it loose when it happened over and over on a road trip. i was less than impressed after dumping $1000 in parts to redo my brakes with oem parts. i couldn't justify the aftermarket stuff that was cheaper as i got about 85000km on the original brakes, about 45000km on my 1st caliper was my driving, i don't think the truck saw much dirt before i got it.

either way your dirty skanky taco is looking great spoonman!
