    Yes, I sold my '13 Taco. :'(
I was thinking the same. Maybe the headers will have lost their luster by then so they aren't so damn shiny.

Ideally, I'm hoping the truck doesn't even have to go to a smog station at all when the time comes....

I've got a car that hasn't seen a smog station since 2008 (mods beyond reversible), but I've got an 'insider' thank goodness so I've been getting legit registration on its smog years without taking the car off my driveway LOL. Granted, it's not cheap, but it's been working. :D

I must commend you. You have done a heck of a lot of big mods in such a short time. It certainly stands out well.

    Hey Tor!

    Thanks man!!

....also another thanks for letting me pick your brain via PM's on all things 1GR-FE. ;)

Still hitting a solid 11.4 on the afr's at the top of 4th with the FPR running in stock mode, and she's running real nice! Good for me, bad for unsuspecting victims.....like the fart canned Honda Prelude that got spanked a few weeks ago. :D

Got an oil catch can I've been sitting on that I should really install soon. Other than that, nothing mechanically new or upcoming to report. This build will get increasingly more boring as I have shifted priorities back to throwing money at my garage queen Subie lol.

    My pleasure mate.
Always love the expression from unsuspecting victims.
If you are calling this a "stopping point", it is a good one. At least temporarily. ;)

    Pics of Subi?! ^_^

Haha yes, indeed a 'stopping point' for all the exciting mods...just little aesthetic mods/practical mods I'd like to get done when I get a chance from here on out. [for now lol]

Now it's time to hijack my own thread. :D

These pics were taken in 2011, and it hasn't changed. Hell, I'd be lucky if it's seen 100 miles in 3 years!!! *sigh* Time to fix that soon.

Here's a little write up my buddy did on the build:

    :D THanks dude!

I got mine done at www.LightWerkz.net.

Here's the build on them: http://www.lightwerkz.net/photo/matthews-2013-toyota-tacoma-ls460-r-bixenon-projector-conversion/

    -or-

you can buy them here on TW:

    http://www.tacomaworld.com/forum/2n...1641-best-best-turn-key-ls460r-retrofits.html

Do a search on "retrofit headlights" on TW and you'll find a lot of people making as selling them with different options. The ones on my truck are on the high end of retrofits for Tacomas which means price will be up there too.

Page 1 of this thread has everything listed on my truck with who makes em or where I purchased from.

LOL I love the self-thread-jacking. I have a 2004 PSM STi and it's almost comical how dirty and nasty it is compared to yours. I used it as a DD for the last 3 years and every owner before me did as well. Michigan winters are not nice on a vehicle.

Hopefully it'll be this clean again someday once I get it back on the road. It has a scary loose ball joint right now and feels horrible on any sort of rough surface (all michigan roads)

Haha awesome, I'm glad there are still people out there holding onto their peanut eye 2004 STi's!!! Subaru hasn't made sporty looking AWD sedans since our chassis----the new sedans, including the 2015 have lost that soul IMO. I have a cousin who currently lives in Michigan and, needless to say, is already planning on moving out here to Cali by the end of summer lol. I've heard/seen what those MI winters do to vehicles man, respect to you Michiganders who endure it! :(

Mine has been on a battery tender collecting dust in the garage for almost 4 years now. It's embarrassing. Even more embarrassing is the current odometer readout: 31,611.

Thanks man!! She was a HANDFUL on the road course-----I ran the 400whp map on 105 race gas at the track and had some puckering moments. The last time I tracked her was 9 years ago. Man I miss those days. Not CHEAP days, but great learning experiences. Most importantly, those days taught me not to be a dickhead driver outside of the track. lol

    White-yellow_1_053a_becd967290233bddd63078a587de0a02b972a77a.jpg

.....that said, when I start throwing big money at her again, she'll have a fully forged, sleeved & o-ringed shortblock with ported heads, upgraded valvetrain, Kelford cams, ID2000 injectors & fuel system, and a proper GTX 3582R/Tial stainless vband .86 A/R housing rotated turbo kit. Timeline on that project: TBD. lol Gunning for an honest 550-600whp tuned on the corn fuel. We shall see!

The engine bay should look something along these lines when I'm done with her:

    Fuggin' sick!

That is going to be a true beast! Those GTX's are simply amazing turbos.

I was planning on using the ID2000's myself.

One of the times I was at Kozmic Motorsports, we were talking about that specific size and that they had an over heating issue with them on their Evo's and WRX's. They would lock up from over heating, primarily on constant speed road trips.

That was quite a few months ago that we had that discussion, and the injectors might have since been changed. Another thing is that there are also a lot of variables that were at play, and will vary based off of different engine builds/heat abatements in the engine bay.

I just want to throw that out there so that if you hadn't heard any thing like that above, that you could do a little asking around before you dive into those expensive injectors. Just so you can be certain they will be flawless with your setup.

I will be doing some more asking around myself. As I would rather have the extra fueling capability and safety. I know Ryan Gates used them on his AMS Evo X, for Time Attack. But that is constantly fluctuating fueling demands.

BTW, those are my personal favorite brand, and I will be upgrading to the ID1300's from the ID1000's which I used to have.

    Any track vids?

From me personally since I have a fun time building premium Tacoma retrofits with these projectors.

I bet knowing what Matt knows now he will probably come to me for the next set. ;)

Yeah, I've been following the GTX turbo line development pretty closely, and they've come a long way with those Garret GT chassis turbos. Super efficient turbos with football field size turbo maps! Very little trade off once the engine is built properly.

Nothing is set in stone yet on the next turbo set up, but I'm not counting out the ATP STOCK LOCATION GTX turbos, as they already have the Tial external gate provisions fully CASTED INTO the turbine housings! AWESOME for servicing or doing any kind of tinkering with the downpipe/exhaust. There are people running these on mildly built EJ25's pushing 500whp with EASE on E85. I'm intrigued by these turbos, and the fact that it wouldn't require me to change/modify ANY of my current intercooler/exhaust piping is a major plus.

Picture of the ATP GTX35R stock location for the Subies:

Now obviously it is a "compromise" turbo leaving a bit on the table compared to the full chassis'd GTX35 turbo, but not much. I remember the beginning stages of GT series stock location turbos, and they have come a LONG way in optimizing the right combinations of turbine wheels and housings to fully optimize the beautifully machined GTX compressor wheels. I think the biggest development in stock location Subie turbos is the ability to produce exhaust housings bigger than 8cm^2.

As for the ID's I HAVE heard about those issues, but I have yet to personally hear any problems from my friends running them. I've got a friend running a fully built Legacy(forged internals, cnc'd heads) running a full on top feed ID2000 injector setup compete with rails, FPR, and a proper twin Walboro 400 pump setup and has yet to report any oveheating issues. Mind you, he travels a lot with the car as well. I've also got another friend running the same top feed ID2000's on his '12 STi without any issues, albeit a much less substantial setup(just rails and DW300 pump) and has yet to find any issues. I am always on the lookout though, let me know what you find out from digging! I know my personal STi won't be doing any big trips or hours of steady state driving when it's fully built so that may be more in my favor as for that issue goes.

You'll love your ID1300's---I've got another friend running a set of plug n play side feed ID1300's on his 04 WRX and I guess they tuned out REALLYYYYY nicely on the dyno. Latencies and scaling were a dream to set from scratch as per his tuner.

Unfortunately, my trackdays were PRE-"GoPro era" or should I say the infant age of GoPro so I don't have ANY footage of them----which i regret!!! :(

I have some dyno tuning videos from 2005, but I need to dig for those. I'll try to see where they're at and resurrect them on youtube!

Oh you know you're doing my next Taco retro, Andrew. Haha...question is, will we ever find a projector that will dethrone the King LS460r's??? :D

Depends on if I can sort out a curved-shield RX350. It would outperform the LS460R but only marginally.

I'm pretty sure this is a similar route I'm going to go with mine... Get it paid off and get a proper tune. I'm only running a 3" DP, catback and a cobb Stage 2 OTS tune so far. I'm planning on driving it that way until I kill the motor (135,000 miles so far) and then it's time to rebuild... The motor has so many miles that I don't dare try and build this one.
