DogFish Head, Yuengling, and Young's Double Chocolate Stout

 

Who?

 

I'm always torn between Rogue's double chocolate, Southern Tier Choklat, or Samuel Smith's Organic chocolate.

 

Have you ever had Young's? I've had those 3 and Young's is superior in flavor and texture

Yeah. I've tried Youngs. It's just not the same for me. Seems to have too much of a bite.

i felt Southern Tier had more of a bite.

 

I took a mixed case back with me 2 years ago when I went to Florida. I still have 2 creme brulee stouts that I'm sure have aged nicely. Or at least doesn't taste like pure sugar with molasses.

Nice. I want to try that. I had a De Dolle Stout the other day. Pretty good. Tasted almost like wine at first

 

Yeah. It seems that some of the high ABV beers could use a little aging (2-6 months) to take some of the edge off.

 

Sometimes I look at prints and wonder wtf they think. Hang a 140 lb epc in the air with a 3/8" bolt.. Okay

 

Next time I head to Camp Hill (closest town with the beer) I'm gonna buy a couple DogFish Head 120 IPAs and let them sit a couple months. I've actually had this Southern Tier sitting for 3-4 months lol.

 

You should be able to age those for about 10 years and still be good. I love doing vertical tasting of beer from different years. Anchor christmas is a good one to do, but they change up their recipe just a little every year.
