My recent work made me put like 1500 on since classes ended (first week of may). But i live in a smaller town. Unless i want to drive around the same shit all the time, i could venture out but there isn't a whole hell of a lot of reason to venture out.

Well, if the bypass works properly and with the correct oil in it it will last at those kinds of intervals, the oil will actually stay completely clear like it was just changed, the main thing is getting oil with additives that will last, regular old mobile 1 from wallyworld just wont cut it, the additives wear out to fast to take advantage of the filter keeping it clean. Im looking at the Amsoil setup, as it is a plug and play setup and a bunch of people have used it on the 1-GR-FE with fantastic results

    http://www.amsoil.com/shop/by-produ...se-dual-remote-oil-bypass-unit/?code=BMK23-EA

Edit: the lab fee is $25 per sample, and the cost of an oil change with the long life stuff is way more than that, so it actually works out to be more cost efficient in the end...

Most days. I don't really work when it rains...but those days i work on the vehicles, the house, sort scrap metal, run errands, etc.

I did skip out on the family vacation because i'd rather stay home and make money. I have to set aside money for school this winter/spring. I don't like to work when i'm in school but i may have to this coming season.

I tease. I love Craig lol.

Family time is crucial. To many negative impulses from peers these days. I'm good with spending family time or being around my friends who also stay out of trouble.

My opportunity to live it up should be coming in the form of me buying a motorcycle before the end of summer :spy:

Post up a pic of the tool you remove the stock oil filter with if you can.

Thats why i buy the K&N. It has the 1" nut on it, so easy.

I have a whole oil filter socket kit but none fit the toyota oil filter just right. And they always get stuck on it and i end up prying it off with a screw driver or beating it off with a hammer

On the 4 banger the oil filter is on the bottom of the engine but still easy enough to reach up in there and get a good grip to turn it when you have latex gloves on. First time I had to use some tongue and groove pliers for the first turn but now its just a bit more than hand tight...

Yep^ although on the v6 its WAY easier to get the oil filter out

That's why I use K&N as well. I use the larger one rather than the recommended short one.

I am not a fan of hand tightening. Seen too many of them vibrate off. Although if you tighten it too much you run the risk of destroying the gasket which results in an oil leak.
