I have a 1998 tacoma with the SR5 and TRD Package and it has a 3 inch lift. I am looking to get a new set of Goodyear duratracs, what is the biggest set I can fit with NO RUBBING. :mudding:

42's are the sweet spot for me. 48's were really too big to be practical for wheeling, 38's were too damn small and 40's were close. Settled on 42's and haven't looked back.

And the best part is you don't have to trim anything and they never rub. Win/win!

I just had to take the mud flaps off for the 42s, no biggy though.

MPG with the 42s didn't change much either. No surprise though considering that each wheel/tire weight only 275 lbs.

Like the others say, 42s for the win

Do you have any thoughts on a tire size that you want to run? Yes, wheel spacers will affect where/ how bad you may rub. But it all depends on tire size.

    I haven't really decided, I am leaning towards maybe a 38, I don't need anything too huge.

If that is a wheel spacer to push the wheels out, better stick with 31s. Seriously.

Its your fault. You started all this :crapstorm:

    None
For 2005+ Tacomas: 265/70/17, 265/75/16 or 265/65/18, depending on what size wheels you have

    For 2004 and below: 265/75/16

Lifted 5 lug trucks can run up to a 31" tire, depending on the lift used.

This information is one of the sticky's that is what all these guys are trying to say to you in there own special way.

These'll rub on the frame at full lock.

Sorry, OP, biggest you can go with NO RUBBING is stock size, 265/70R16.

A lot of the peeps around here don't mind the rubbing, some even enjoy it.

I like the rub on the frame. Keeps a nice clean polished area to look pretty.

I really enjoy the amount of sarcasm in this thread.
