I cannot believe they did that! I have heard of people doing that-I was warned about it when I bought my 5100s. Putting my lift on tomorrow and will be sure not to make that mistake!

Funny. I just took the exact same picture and am going to do the exact same thing!

Good luck if you are doing it yourself cause I couldn't get them eibachs compressed enough for the .85 with the jack method

I'll take that into consideration... But a friend has a way of doing it he thinks will work, but is also aware of the truck-weight method. I'll let you know how it goes

Just a installed mine last week. I'm getting some kind of humm noise when accelerating but it sounds like it's just 1 spot every revolution. So it sounds like womp womp womp womp when I'm accelerating.

Alignment done and tires are fine.

Got my lift done Saturday. 5100s all around, fronts at .85 with eibach springs and a 2" AAL. How much rake do you guys see? I know this is a bad picture, sorry. I see a small rake.

Looks good I put the same parts in at the same settings. You might be a little higher in the back but you haul weight in the bed for awhile it will break the leaves in. Better to have a rake which will settle to level, than a level start that's sinks to a bro lean!

Chopper how is the ride, mine was definitely stiff but feels sporty and traveling over bumps and ruts is smooth

Well this leaf pack and AAL have about 50K miles lol they were newer than mine but not new at all. Surprisingly no sag so I think this rake will stay. But you are right about where to start out!

As for the ride I honestly cannot tell a difference from my old setup, but my springs were compressed to lower the front end. So it rides a lot stiffer than stock but it doesn't bother me and is certainly not worse than what I had. It's just been on the road too with no bumps so I really couldn't tell you.

I'm also unreliable as a source because of my wheels and tires. They ride very rough and when I get my 265/75R16s on I will most likely feel like I'm on a cloud.

So in conclusion, my tires affect it too much to tell. :notsure:

Been doing some research on what to set my bilstein 5100 adjustable shocks at, was told to set at 1.75 with nothing in the rear. And setting it at 2.5 with 1inch block in rear was going to give me a rough ride. I decided to go with 2.5 setting with 1inch block and also installed some new tires and wheels. American eagles 17 on some new toyo R/T p285/8017. After drive it home from shop I got to say I did a good choice Tacoma came out bad ass and the ride was not that much of a rough ride, very little notice. I have 2015 trd off road 4x4. If your reading this is because you not sure where to set your bilstein 5100. I would definitely recommend putting it at the 2.5 setting with 1inch block rear. You won't feel much of a rough ride but if you do then you can always drop it down to 1.75. Remember guy and girls it a truck not a Prius. Truck are not meant for smoth baby ride. Will be posting pictures of before and after on my profile.

I guess the amount of preload from anything above "0" prevents the jack method from working?

I've done OME installs solo, using this method...very easy.

My daughter's civic was such a pain...was praising toyota the entire time :p
