Basically allows you to accelerate, sit at a complete stop, ect.. without having to use your clutch. If you've ever ridden a utility style 4 wheeler with a manual transmission it's basically the same idea. But it still allows you to use your clutch when you want to.

    Ah, that would be cool....

I think I need to learn how to drive a motorcycle with the basics for a while first, but I'll definitely look into that in the future!

Yeah learning to shift your bike the old fashioned way is definitely good. I personally wouldn't run a Rekluse clutch on the road. When you find yourself in a rock garden, climbing hills, and crossing streams..thats when the Rekluse comes in handy lol.

Yup, won't be doing that for a couple months until I'm comfortable on the road haha

Will be going home to a bunch of trails and dirt roads Wednesday. So I'll have a LOT of fun out there. I can't wait.

Dad's going to be pissed

It makes it like an ATV. Essentially the clutch is useless. It becomes a shiftable automatic.
No throttle, no go just like your truck.
It will sit at a stop sign and you won't have to be holding the clutch. It'll engage and disengage on its own. You just apply throttle and go

Yeah, I hope I don't fall in the dirt. But I know it's inevitable eventually haha
I like the sound of that, but I want to make myself learn how to drive a typical bike first.
Yup! The only way I can sit with one foot flat on the ground it to slide my butt all the way off of the seat haha

It's getting easier, but the 3 inches lower it'll be will be nice...

Have you tried adjusting the rear spring at all? It should have a spanner nut type thing around it that you can adjust. That may help lower it a little bit and will soften the ride as well.

I wouldn't go with a lower seat though. You want all the padding you can get on a dual sport. When you offroad...sometimes they're like a buckboard beating your ass to death. But alas...you'll get used to it.

Not yet, I'll be doing that as well.

There's also about 2" between the OEM shock mount and the shock. People have drilled another hole in the mount to allow for an extra inch as well. I'm kind of scared to drill through a shock mount on a brand new bike though... Haha
These are supposed to be soft, it replaces the whole seat with different foam.

Falling will happen, you'll be fine in the dirt, that is the place to fall. Pavement is MUCH worse.

I'm sorry you're not 6'1" 180lbs of hansomeness like myself. But like i said. My best friend isn't much taller than you and i recomended the same bike to him when he wants to learn to ride.

You can also get a gel seat that will be squishy and compress more (supposed to be more comfortable but i've never tried one)

Here's what I'm talking about when I say drilling the shock mount. Not sure if it's safe or not... Haha

I'm guessing that could be done, but i don't like the idea of it. Just go with whatever lowering kit is recommended for your bike and will suit your needs :)

    Yeah, agreed.

I can buy an adjustable lowering link that can get me up to an extra 4". Plus others have said that if you take out as much preload as possible out of the rear that's another inch. I feel like that would be perfect. Plus if I raise the forks it'll give it extra as well.

    Cool, Thanks.

    Looking good Brent.

I thin i'm gonna put off selling my quad (I sat on it when I took it off the trailer and remembered how much I love it), so I'll probably sell my bike and put that money into a Dual sport account while I fix up my quad.

I think I'll have to do a complete tear down on the quad to keep it from rusting, so many little nicks in 11 year old paint that I need to sand and fix.
