    Route 1 and 95 (1st and last) go North / South.
    The famed Route 66 goes East / West

    All the rest follow true.

    and any 3 digit road (276) is a beltway around a city. They can go north, east, south and west. Usually in a big circle.

    It's all in my head at the moment...
    Not on the Interstate system...I-5 - I-95 run N/S
    I-10 -I-90 run E/W

    The last 2 numbers are the Interstate route number ie I-385 is a branch of I-85. If there is an even number before the Branch number, That route goes around the city or traveled route.

    If there is an odd number in front of the Branch number, That route goes into the city or traveled route.

    I-495 goes around DC, Boston etc
    I-285 goes around Atlanta etc

    Just some info.
