I should be armored up enough for whatever but still open/open...

I have plans to fix that but they're a ways off .

 

I did 13 open/open w/ armor on 265's

Bricked the shit out of it but I did it.

I've learned it's all about what line you take.

 

Agreed, the responsible lines aren't usually the fun ones though, especially with you DBs

I'm totally down to smash up some armor, at least my tcase actuator can't fuck me now

 

You can have my armor and I'll still roll your lines

As for my steering stops, no taped nickels.... just welded steel plate. I don't think tape would hold up at all.

and yeah....... CV axle replacement will be quicker and easier for you than putting on a spare tire for the average car owner. lolz

 

Im just throwin this up as a reminder to all you guys.

Some of you know my buddy walt that lives across the street from me. What happened to him today should never happen.

I left for work around 2300 tonigt and his wife came out and told me his truck crushed him. I like wtf!

He was getting ready to do a passenger wheel bearing and cvs on his 3500 chevy dully . Just what ill be doing monday on my truck. The story is alittle spotty on what happened but from what I get out of his wifes accounts he was disconnecting his drive shaft and the truck pinned him under the front diff.

My question is why was he disconnecting the driveshaft? Why did he not block the rear tires?
His truck was lowered not slammed but lower than the average 3500.

He was crushed under the truck for approximately 30mins before a neighbor heard him gasping for help. Fuck man!

His injuries as of now are

2 broken collar bones
2 broken arms
the entire rib cage is pulverized. Meaning there is no way to let that heal. They said they will have to make a rib cage for him.
1 collasped lung
1 lacerated lung
heart is bruised
and honestly after that I kinda zoned out and didnt hear much more.

They have him in a medically induced coma now so they can try a patch him up.
the drs said they cant believe he was still alive and awake when he got to er.

Moral of the story guys chaulk your tires before getting under your trucks.

I kinda rambled on here just needed to get it off my chest. Outlook is kinda rocky right now.

Its going to be a long night at work. I have so many questions.

 

Thanks man. Fucked up part is he is 60 years old.

 

Tuffest guy I know. Cut his hand with a chainsaw one day and didnt even say ouch.

 

Damn, being new to modding and working on my truck I will def take this story in consideration. That could be a careless over sight that I would have done, but will now make sure I take a minute for safety precautions. Very sorry to hear this. My thoughts are with him and his family/friends.

That's pretty gruesome, glad his neighbor found him in time!

 

Shit that's fucking crazy. I need to invest in taller jack stands asap. That is always one of my worst fears when I get under the truck.
