I would have to say Def Leppard.

"hysteria" is one of those songs that's great for cruising around to.

Ratt was one of my favorites back in the day. Motley Crue kicked ass also.

    Definately Def Leppard!

Ratt & Quiet Riot but they weren't as popular as DL.

    Scorpians

I love all these music threads...
Now the 80's this was my time, middle school and high school were the greatest hair band time.

Can't believe no one has mentioned G n R. Like it or not they were hairband that made it out of the 80's. Motley Crue has been said, great stuff though. Zebra is an unknown that had some great tunes, think "Who's behind the Door" classic tune. Queensryche kind of started like a hair band, they had a lot of gidd tunes. Really came into their own in the 90's though.

I would say G n R would have to be tops.

Next poll should be metal. And then we would have to put Metallica on top!!

I agree with you about G n R. But Axel started getting really stupid. Slash and Duff kicked some serious ass!

Yeah his ego really killed the band, along with the heroin. When Jungle came out, I thought they were the second coming of Led Zeppelin. They almost made it as well...

But as I think you agree, Welcome to the Jungle was the greatest rock album of the 80's. You could say U2 comes close with a couple albums but Jungle would give you chills on the right pair of crappy 6 x 9's cranked to the max. I once blew a 10'' on the opening drumbeat to Paradise City!

Motley Crue, Poison and Metallica. And no longer metallica, well because South Park summed it up for me.

I know what you mean about U2. I wasn't a big fan back then. I have learned to appreciate there music a little more, especially that early stuff. But they are not a band I ever really want to listen to over and over.

Gloria is the only song I really like from U2. Cool video too. Damn, that was like 1982, wasn't it?

Some others bands I remember seeing in their hey day at the Montreal Forum was Loverboy, Foreigner, Wang Chung, Styx, Journey oh my  thats all I can remember right now...

1981, on October album I think...good call, that was a good song. I was always a fan of Bad.
