In CA you can rent old fire lookouts by the night. Some have gas appliances while some have none at all. All of them have some kind of beds or sleeping platforms. They all have vault toilets and BBQ rings. Some you can access by vehicle and some you have to hike to. You have to bring your own water at all of them.
