ya, I can't get excited over this world cup thing. As usual I think the media tries to hype it up for that almighty dollar.

 

Americans don't care about soccer because it is the one major international sport that we can't compete in.

 

I don't really care about soccer, but the USMNT is competing pretty well right now.

 

Former Auburn tight end Phillip Lutzenkirchen passed away. He was a member of the 2010 national title team. Apparently he was in a car accident.

 

It's a very sad day for anyone associated with Auburn or Auburn football. A true standup guy. You've never heard or read one thing about the young man that was negative. No. 43 will live on in Auburn lore..

 

True this ^^ Played above his natural ability because he wanted it that bad for not only himself but his team. Always came up clutch. Every team needs a guy like him... sad to hear.

 

I'd guess this would be his most notable (not his best mine you) play of his short life.

They're in the field of 16 and weren't expected to get past the "Group of Death." No I haven't seen all of the games, but I know that the USMNT has exceeded the expectations for them. That's pretty good in my opinion.

 

Really sad.. Can't believe he's gone just like that. He was a great guy

I met him when he was signing autographs one time he was a real nice guy, they should retire his number.

 

I met him after a game. Such a nice guy and great inspiration for others. He lived life the way you're supposed to and always set a good example.

 

Meh. they did better than England. Good is just good enough.

Also, remember that I'm a Mississippi State sports fan. If the team can compete, then they're doing well in my book.
