OK. I spent a lot of time here studying what to do with my - former - 2010 rear bumper. I ended up with this - happy to report. Was delivered straight to door -fit perfectly. Had friend saw off odd "thunderdome" spikes in about 5 minutes. Rattle can painted and somehow the Rustoleum hammered "Black" pain turned out like a factory Toyota grey. Happy accident. Primed with rattle can rustoleum flat back as well. (after acetone wash). photos of current model - the Trail Gear Rock Assault Rear Tacoma Bumper 300411-1-KIT. Saw older and cheaper models on market place but went with this sleeker and tow rated version[IMG].

anyone here have pics of bumpers on stock suspension? I am getting a bumper this friday from elite (steel) and dont have money for a suspension upgrade for maybe another 3 months. wonder if it will be ok with TRD off road stock suspension

Quick question, I purchased the All Pro bumper below and now I have a dilemma. The bumper needs to be repainted (it was a little roughed up, nothing extreme, just used and it doesn't match my truck very well). Install will be this weekend coming up. The price to have it re-powder coated is a little much. Would it really be worth the couple hundred to have it powder coated black or has anyone had good results painting something similar with rattle can rubbarized paint? It's going on my 2013, so I want it to look decent. If it was going on a 1st gen (no offense to 1st gen owners), I would just rattle can it and not think twice. As is, I want my truck to look good and be functional. Thoughts?

Do you off-road? And if so then are there rocks around you? If you plan on doing a decent amount and it's rocky, I don't see how you justify pc costs. Pc chips just as easy as any other paint when smashed against a rock. Haha I've seen it numerous times. So if that's the case, I would spray paint it. I painted mine with rustoleum spray on bedliner and then dupicolor paint for my truck. Looks great. But I have also resprayed it numerous times. Best thing is I just spray chipped spots and it blends back in nicely. But if you barely ever off-road or off-road a lot but there's not much to hulk smash on then I'd say pc is worth it if you don't want to ever have to touch it up

I do offroad. At the moment, mostly for hunting and search and rescue, but I'll be getting back into some recreational stuff. It's mostly mud I have to worry about in BC though, not a lot of rock. The most "hulk smash" I will see are logs/stumps and maybe some ice if I get a little crazy in the winter.

Haha gotcha. Well then I'd say the pc sounds like a good idea. From my experience of having only rocky and muddy trails, it takes a very short time to figure out half the paint on your bumpers, sliders and skids are gone. That's why, for me, spray paint is a great solution

I might still do it that way for the cost savings. You guys have a particular brand of paint that works better than any other?

What are those small nodules on the bumper? Cameras? Backup sensors?
