Not flaming or getting into a religious debate, but not all depression is caused by a chemical imbalance. Clinically-diagnosed deep depression and true suicidal patients are usually diagnosed with a chemical imbalance, but scientists have not determined this cause as fact in all cases. Trust me, myself and the rest of my immediate family all wrestle with this issue, and my sister's case of a chemical imbalance is MUCH more serious than the rest of my family. There is a huge difference...

when I was depressed it wasnt a chemical imbalance and I didnt need medication, I just needed to get a job and get out more. It can be a chemical thing but for me it was just a state of mind that I was stuck in, and is probably the same in most cases for others, doctors just like to pump out the drugs cause it makes their life easier, when really anti depression drugs just make it worse, they are addicting and once you get off of them your depression is worse than before.

Well I posted on here before, for me I am at a different spot now. For the past month I have been dealing with paperwork, getting the house in a condition the girls can live in, and above all of that dealing with the loss of my wife at a young age.

A few days back my brother and I had a meeting with a finicial advisor to get the last things taken care of. When that meeting was over it hit me hard. It feels like I have put a closure on things. For the past month it has been busy, day and night. Now everything is done, I have taken two depression tests and failed them both. In just a few days there has been a night and day difference in my life.

I constantly go to the Lord for strength, and seek what I would call the proper people to talk to. But the people can not be here 24/7 true the Lord is here but the other part of my life for the past 19 years is gone. We can see this word "depression" as so many things, and so many of us are different in our walk with man and our walk with the Lord. I feel that I am closer to Him than I have been before, but yet I am still dealing with this as a man here on earth.

It is hard to explain but some of you know what I am talking about. Am I depressed..........yes I am, but you must first know me to see why the depression has hit me so hard. I have an appointment to see my doctor, and as I wrote before we talked about it. We can think we will never get it, I was depressed before, not this bad. I have now taken the second step, first was to seek the Lord about it, second is now to go to my doctor, who is a man himself, but a man who knows and loves the Lord.

Bill, remember, the Lord will ALWAYS love you, and will always be there for you. He will never put you in a situation that you can't handle. Take care, God Bless, and always remember,

    God LOVES you! :)

    Its a bicycle.
I have crippling depression. but its just a symptom of a much larger, more serious mental illness... for me. I think about suicide first thing in the morning. the last thing before I go to bed. and it takes up a fair chunk of my day. If I could stand to break my mothers heart (which I can't) I'd blow my head off right now.

the ONLY reason I'm alive is to not hurt my family.

Humans are not meant to sit indoors. We're active, social creatures by nature.

Hike, bike, climb, run, swim, surf, or whatever -- just get out there and live! It's something that'll snowball in wonderful ways for you. :)

Honestly, do you think smoking weed will do anything good at all?

Weed will get you into possible legal trouble if not prescribed, as it is an illegal substance (not matter how widespread it is...).

dont use weed for depression, smoke weed cause its amazing, should be legal and alcohol should be illegal, imo people are way more responsible high than drunk.
