What have you done to your Tacoma today? 1st Gen Edition

I went on a little spending spree today. I ordered a Fabtech tire carrier, Weathertech digital floor liners, Wheeler's stainless steel rake lines (front and rear), ToyTec adjustable shackles. And I may order an ARB bumper and a Rugged Ridge winch before the night is over. And still considering a TRD supercharger.

 

I did some spending too...holy mother of god spending...ouch

 

Uh oh. Was it worth it?

came back from camping and found out this




also this ain't no hardcore offroad route too, even saw an audi drove by the trail that we camped off of. lucky the whole thing didn't break off or else I be camping for a very long time. On the drive home I notice clunking noise from the front driver side and thought it was nothing. After taking everything out I check and found my culprit. The forward arm weld broke off and shifted forward.

 

Wow. That's crazy.

 

I wish I'd picked up a supercharger when they were dumping them for obscenely low prices right after the 2nd Gen Tacoma came out.

 

I had him do one project for me personally. But my friend's shop recommends all their customers to him.

He does quality work for decent price.

He's on 287 and Dillon Rd. That's either Lafayette or Broomfield. It's literally on the border.

 

Its completely normal and not designed to be a press fit.

 

I was SO close to pulling the trigger today from trdparts4u.com, but I want to see if I can find a good deal on a used one.

 

Look in the Arizona regional forum on the for sale thread. A guy is selling a brand new one for 2200 and he has a bunch of urd parts to accommodate it

 

Got the tie rods and rack bushings replaced today as well as got an alignment. Thing steers pretty solid now. If only I had the steering wheel tack weld mod... Haha

 

Did you pay the guy at the hobby shop to tell you how not to do it?

 

Nope, went to a shop in Warrensburg. Screw that guy at the hobby shop, I don't want him touching my truck.

 

I miss the MWR garage on base. It use to pack a cooler and spend the there wrenching on my TJ. Only problem I ever had was convincing them that I could install my lift with a broken leg. Spent that day wheeling myself around the shop on a creeper.

By the shape, I'd guess aftermarket.

 

Look like light racing. I thought mine are welded all the way around the tube though.

wait what? but either way when i pull it one way its smooth like butter, but when i push it in i get a clicking sound and rough feeling...
