I've always been kinda curious to see how well those work on a lifted truck. I was considering one when i was looking at RTT's.

 

Errbody looking for jobs. I'm still bummed I didn't get the one I really wanted. Darn preferences kind of a kick in the shins hearing I would have gotten it otherwise

Gov job. Even though I was told I was the best qualified candidate they had, veterans get hiring preference and I guess a few applied.

Yeah they have all sorts of hiring preference stuff. Veterans, disabled, previous gov workers, etc. Both good and bad. Good for those people but bad for hiring less qualified people for positions.

For all we know you actually were better qualified for the job compared to all the other applicants. No matter if they said that to make you feel better or not.

Been looking at agriculture stuff. Department of Ag, Animal and Plant Health Inspection Service, etc type stuff.

I actually was, they told me so. I didn't get referred even though I fit the job perfectly so I emailed asking what I could do to improve and help better my chances in the future for a job like that and she said I scored one of the highest on their assessment tests and was a top qualifier...but some veterans applied so they had first pick. They said if they have a handful of veterans apply they automatically deny everyone else and pick from that pool.

And I'm not knocking vets or anything, just makes it pretty hard to get in.

I'll be looking for a civ service job after school.. Work for about 2 years and make about $55k per year

 

This particular one was $40k a year starting. My aunt is a GS13 and makes 100K+

 

Definitely salvageable

 

SES is where you make the real money. My buddies dad is a SES 1 and his starting salary was close to 175. plus full benefits. But anyone who is an SES can negotiate their pay or so I've been told.

At one point my dad was a GS11 step 5 and my mom was a LT Col. Thats when they had real money lol

 

Ill be looking for a job in about 10 years when im done with school... Oral maxillofacial surgoen ftw!

 

In my defense I am studying, on TW and listening to my german shepherd bark at a laser light that was meant to entertain cats...

 

We'll see tomorrow. Hopefully a curb will be enough to reduce the angle of the ramp. If not I'm sure my buddy and I can figure it out.
