Purchase a clay bar, either from Maguires or California wax. This will remove most of the water spots and any other contaminates. I own a black truck also, and it works fine. Just read the instructions before using.

    Thanks!

I had a look at the Meguiar's website and I'm going to give the clay bar a try.

    Cheers.

Camping lab sells these types of tents in kits as well, with support bars that go across in the bed to secure the tent. Its actually a really nice setup that you can buy. It looks like he has it secured to his tonneau cover though.

    check it out

It's mounted to a Thule canopy rack that's mounted to an ARE tonneau cover. It holds up great. I had support tabs that mounted to the bed so all the pressure was off the cover. It worked fine for a bit but it was a pain getting stuff in and out of the bed while the tent was open. I've gotten rid of the ARE cover and have a RollBak aluminum rolling cover now. The Thule rack is mounted to the bed rails. This setup is much better since it's easier to get stuff in and out of the bed but it keeps the tent below the roof line to help with gas mileage and not beating it up on the trail.

Some more picture of the new setup.
