I'm looking to get replace my A2 sight with a flip-up but after some brief looking around online I can't find a definite answer on which blocks will fit with magpul hand guards. Anyone know what will fit? The few that I found said in the sites Q&A that they wouldn't fit with magpul hand guards.

Are you trying to barrel mount it or rail mount it to the magpul handgaurd?

Yeah, I checked them out too, briefly. Just didn't know if they'd fit with the hand guards. I'm just looking for a railed gas block and then add the sights that I like.

Yeah, I knew with the low-pro block the sights wouldn't flip up and some don't even fit.

Yea I knew that lol... But what I meant to say is why go higher than what's in the pic?? cuz judging by the pics it looks high enough or I'm just trippin lol... I know in long range you theoretically don't want a large hight over bore ratio... But I do realize the difference in the semi auto world and bolt gun world... Still is a good looking AR though...

Ended uo painting my JP hand guard since I couldn't find a quad rail I wanted. Came out lighter then what I thought but still looks nice.

Aperture sights work best with the rear as close to the eye as possible and the front as far from it as possible. You're eye can then center the front post in the aperture more easily and naturally. But there's no harm in trying new ideas and seeing how they work for you.
