Bit of confusion. Bilstein and one dealer say no 5100's for the rear of the 2WD prerunner. One dealer says they have had not problems. Anyone have the 5100's in the rear and not 5125,s on their Preunners without issue. Stock height. Thanks

5100's are for 2-3in lifts. 5125's are for 0-1.5in lifts. I have 5100's with firestone air bags but i would reccommend 5125's for stock prerunners.

5100 is for stock to 1'' lift.
    9'' 5125's are for 1''-3'' of lift.
10'' shocks are for 2.5''-4.5'' of lift

*Guesstemated from info I've been told, I'm running 9'' 5125's on my rig with 2.5'' of lift and haven't topped them out or bottomed them out.

From down south motorsports web site for rear 5125's:
NOTE: This shock set up is recommended for vehicles with no lift, or stock height in the rear. The collapsed dimensions are shorter than the 5100 rear shocks. Driver Side 8" Travel: Ext. 21.54" Col. 13.58" Pass. Side 8.5" Travel: Ext. 22.5" Col. 14.06"

    X2 pretty much.

Gotta go to wheelers off-road to get the 5125's we are talking about. They have different lengths to choose from.

The 5100's I got w/ my ultimate kit from toytec were only .5" - 1" longer than the stock shocks.

    I am confused about this.....

I have a stock 2003 Tacoma TRD Pre Runner 2WD and I just bought the Bilstein 5100 for the rear. My suspension is totally stock from my understanding. But, I did look at the rear shocks the other day and they appear to be aftermarket KYB shocks.....

So I am not sure about this. Will the 5100 series WORK on a stock 03 Prerunner?

I ordered my shocks from suspensionconnection.com

Indeed. I am not sure what the heck to do. No one seems to know which way the boot goes either....

Gotcha. Is the Bilstein logo supposed to be on the bottom or top of the shock when mounting?
