Nope the valving in your old shocks is not adequate to handle the new spring rate of the dakars.

The AAL gives approx 3/4" lift according to Kurt at Cruiser Outfitters.

But it gives a lot more load capacity.

    Does this sound right?

2002 Toyota Tacoma TRD Extra Cab V6 with a plate bumper (110 Lbs) and looking to add winch sooner or later. 265/75/16 tires

I'm looking at a full OME lift with 883 coils and dakar leafs.

Would I need a diff drop or extended brake lines for this? Do the 883 coil sound right for a plate bumper? Thanks for any help!

I will most likely order from wheelers.

Full ome lift, nitro charger sports all 4 corners (rear shocks relocated), Dakar pack w/ AAL, 882 coils, diff drop, toytec 1" shackles, trail gear low profile front bumper, Tuff Stuff winch, bamf sliders, RAT skids, BAMF Bed Rack, Tepui Kukenam RTT, RAT rear bumper,
Why not the 882? You can add a top plate spacer if you need extra height. Diff drop wouldn't hurt, and I highly recommend extended rear brake line, yep!

If you carry much weight in the back often, you may find the d6xl aal.

Thanks for the input! Why would the 882 coil be better than the 883? I believe wheelers provides you with an extended brake line so I will be sure to install that! :)

Stuff and things that make it better.
The 882's are a taller spring with a lighter spring rate compared to the 883's. Basically they have a smoother feel, less stiff than the 883's while giving the same height with a heavier load up front. If/when you decide to add another battery+super heavy winch with a steal line+any other heavy item up front(200lbs+), the 883's would be an easy swap. I switched out my 881's to 882's in under an hour and sold the old springs for 20 bucks less than new in a day.

    882 spring rate 500 lbf/in, height 395mm
    883 spring rate 590 lbf/in, height 375mm

Not full OME, but recently swapped my eibachs out for 881's. Ride is 100x better. Must be the slope of the ground, but I do have some rake.

busted All Pro standards/ 9.5" 5125's in the rear, 5100/881 in front. Full 3/16" skids, tube bumper and sliders with 31" tires.

Some lift, some armor, some scratches..
Is anyone running the 883 w/ the 10mm lift enhancer? What lift did it yield?

I just put on an ARB bumper w/ a 9k Superwinch and my current 881s w/ the 10mm spacer sagged a solid 3/4".

I decided on the 883s b/c I'm a v6 DC and have a lot of weight up front ~400#. I was thinking of adding the 10mm spacer to match up with my rear setup better (wheelers "6" pack and 1" lift shackle) but don't want to have any bro lean.

Any insight into this situation?! Thanks!

I remember someone with a similar set up in this thread but can't think of it right now. I say try it out, worst cast scenario you have to take the spacers off, pretty easily done in a hour.

For what its worth, I have an ARB bumper, a 10K Engo winch and 120 lbs of skids on the 882's. The ride is great and the height is the same as it was when I had just the bumper and 881's, I do have the 2.7 engine though...

Yea I guess I'm just gonna put it on and see how it turns out..

Worst case scenario I just lift the rear more right!? Haha

I just don't feel like going through the trial and error and was hoping someone might have experience.

I'll report back with how it goes

After putting my plate bumper on I don't think my 883s sagged much at all...no winch yet though so time will tell on that.

I thought I read a post of yours saying that you wanted to put the spacer on after the new bumper sagged you down .. What are your measurements now w/ the 883s? How much does your bumper weigh? You got skids and sliders?

Nope. I may have said I expected to though. But it barely did anything to the front end. I don't have measurements at the moment either.

As far as weight, not sure on that either. I'd guess 2-3 times the weight of stock. Definitely couldn't lift it by myself.
