Not to sound like a dick, but I'm not giving away my switch idea easily. I want something different than everyone else, and if it doesn't work I don't want people coming back to me for solutions or whatever. I'm no electrician so I'm shooting in the dark here and hoping it comes out how I envision. It's too easy to order the same rocker switches as everyone else has. A little research can get you on a similar path though.

Looks like too many wires to run through the door to me. Be a pain

It's a single ribbon cable from the included relay/fuse box mounted under the hood. I need to get a longer ribbon cable now because I chose the door instead of the center console.

I've been considering getting a 2nd Gen but I really love the size, body style and simplicity of the 1st Gens.

Short search lead to a 1st Gen pre-runner for sale nearby for about $14k. Still a bit crazy to pay for something I'm going to tear apart.

It would be the only way I go to a DC.

SafetyDang did the conversion. His truck is fap worthy.

Not sure why considering it's the most compact 12 switch panel I've seen. It's about the size of my iphone.

Stylistically perhaps? Obviously not size wise.

    Very cool idea though.

    Creative and different.

It looks out of place, IMO.

Plus I always like having my passenger to have access to switches, etc.

I'd be looking to swap everything over: bumpers, manual transmission, transfer case, front diff, axles, stereo, electrical, suspension, etc. I really need to find something with a blown engine or transmission (being a Toyota, ya right.) or fork out the bucks for something running that can sit in the garage for awhile.

I don't even know what I'd do with the xtra cab after I got everything switched over. Not sure I'd want to go through the effort of slapping all the prerunner parts on it.

How? It took all of 15 seconds to run it through the door and connect 12 switches to relays and fuses. To add any additional switches all I have to do is plug the power wire from the new electronic device to the relay box in the engine bay and bam, the switch works. All 12 switches are ready to roll at any given second.

    Ribbon connections are horrible.

And I can't think of anyplace where a 12 wide ribbon will fit without rolling it and getting ruined over time.

But I haven't seem it so idk.

Complete OME kit w/ 881's and dakars. All-Pro Sliders, CB, HAM Radio and various other minor stuff.
Personally for me, ergonomics would be off. My eyes are forward and that where I think the switches should be.

That said, I do like the design. Assuming the switch contacts are durable, it is a good concept.

    Yea..that's not easy...

Plus the body mounts for the rear need cut off and re welded.

Then all the clutch stuff is a hassle a bit too.
