Sounds about right to me. Are u redoing the trans mount too? Or using the existing one? If using the existing then put those bolts in just enough so they stay but allow a lil movement the take motor mounts. If u do motor 1st u may never get those to line up with out moving the mount a hair. Just my 2¢ from dealing with a broken perch twice and trans mount... :notsure; but really I don't know shit lol

My motor mounts were fine when I punctured my oil pan. I reused a bolt that came with my old procomp 6" lift and had one too many threads sticking up. When I nose dived in ocotillo a while back, I punctured mine. Luckily it was a small crack and was fixed with some quick steel. It's been holding strong for over a year

Yah that's what I was thinking. Existing crossmember new solid trans mount. Anthony wants to take it to a shop but I'm confident we can do it right if we just take out time and triple check everything.

I'm too cheap. I've been running atf for the last 3 years. Works great for just doing desert runs.

Well that's interesting. I need to find something lighter for the Siberian winters up here, I wonder how ATF would do. When it's -20F my truck rides like a freight train for a few miles. I guess I could put block heaters on the shocks.

Edit: I learned more than I ever wanted to know about ATF as suspension fluid here, it's geared toward mountain bikes, but interesting none the less- http://www.peterverdone.com/wiki/index.php?title=Suspension_Fluid

I have had that SAME noise for a couple months! My carrier bearing is fine and i just had my driveshaft inspected. Are my gears going out? Bearing? I have had 4.88s in there for about 60,000 miles and a good amount of offroading too.

Heres a video I tried taking..its clearer towards the end but sounds exactly like the video Anthony posted above. Any insight would be helpful!

I jacked up the rear and all I found was both wheels have lots of side to side play...and the driveshaft spins quite a bit before the gear "engage"

Poor man's shock oil, you just need to valve for it.

I'd just leave the diff bolted in while you line stuff up. Just don't drop the motor on it :p

Then drop the diff to weld them in after you tac them.

    Jesus..3"

would that lower uniball be usable on other kits (retrofit) or on stock arms? if so i think you could make some bank selling just that portion

Speaking of 2.5" vs 3". How hot is too hot for a shock? I played around at the dunes for a few hours this weekend and my rear 18's got pretty damn hot. Hot as in you could feel the heat just putting your hand within a few inches of them. You could hold your hand on them without getting burnt but it was still hot enough to be uncomfortable to hold your hand on it for very long so getting close to where it would burn you. I'm still MT up front so I'm sure once I go LT I will be pushing them even harder. I have 2.5x18" kings up front. Oh and it wasn't even a hot day out there. It was in the 70's.

I've seen the video of BJ spitting water on a set of his shocks and it boils instantly off of them but I figure that's too hot and he's just going go rebuild/replace them after that. Haha

I saw the truck at the meet. Kit looks solid with hiemed uppers. I was staring down the front bumper. I love it.
