Any pros or very knowledgeable guys that know there stuff when it comes to 6" lifts?

    OK, so here’s my situation. Im a fleet mechanic for thelocal government so we work on a large variety of vehicles from cars to tractortrailers... We don’t get to do suspension or body lifts at all so I have neverdone one. I just bought a 2014 Toyota Tacoma v6 access cab 4X4; I purchased a Roughcountry lift kit for her. I also purchased a 3” performance accessories bodylift, 20” wheels, and a set of 35 “Pro Comp Xtreme MT2 tires.

    Here are my obstacles:

    There are no manuals out yet for the 2014 Tacoma. All thevehicles I have worked on (our fleet vehicles are Chevy, dodge, and Fords. No Tacomaso I haven’t had much experience with Toyotas but look forward to doing so.
    I have no hoist so it has to be done in my garage...It’sa well equipped garage. I Just have no hoist.

    Always here is what I have for parts:

    My parts list isas follows:

    A Rough Country 6”suspension kit with four boxes.
    One- 1747box1 Tacoma 6” lift kit
    One-1746 box1 cross member
    One-1746 box2 Tacoma skid plate
    One-1746box4 Tacoma knuckles box

    Why there are two boxes labelled the same part number buthave a different description I have no idea but the contents are different.

    I also have a 3” body lift kit but I’m not sure if I wantto use it or not as I’m told it takes allot of labour. If my 35’s will fitwithout it I would rather just stick to the suspension lift

    Its a Performance Accessories 3” body lift kit.

    As for wheels I have:

    4 – BMF Stealth Wheels
    Part# 464SB-09063900

    o after all that I’m hoping someone here is knowledgeableto answer a few questions regarding my setup.

    Can this be done by 1 mechanic in a well equipped garagebut with no hoist?

    Will these parts all work together?

    What about my VSC? Will I have problems?

    Do I need the tire pressure monitor that goes inside thetier on the valve stem???

    Won’t the VSS pick up a low pressure tire and turn on thedash light???

    And lastly to any shops and or mechanics that do this fora living, what would the labour cost on a job like this...Or how many man hoursdo you think it would take? To do the suspension lift, (maybe the body lift) mountand balance tires and align?

    Thank you in advance anybody that took the time to read this and is tiring to help out a Toyota newbie

    Is this truck 2wd or 4x4?
    For 2wd you should have bought a spindle lift.
    If it's 4x4 then you have the right kit for it.
    The two boxes label the same music be the two cross members.
    35s will fit with small amount of running. Nothing a little cutting won't take care of.
    The body lift has to go. It's not safe.
    If you have a 4x4 the cross members on the truck has to be cut so the font differential can drop into its place. Also holes have to be drilled for the support bars as well.there will be quite a few holes to drill.
    As far as hours go. A shop with knowledge of doing these trucks, usually take two days. Maybe even 3.
    With out experience on these trucks. It may take 5 days. There are a hand full of brackets for each side.
    The vsc has to be recalibrate
    the tps can be swapped over to the new rims. Or left out. If left out the tps light will stay on. No harm there.

    If you tackle this lift yourself, good luck.
    If a shop does it, usually between 500 to 1000 for install

    Thanks for the feedback, its a 4wheel drive, Just a bit nervous about the cutting part as I have not done a 6" suspension lift yet.

    OP are you even going to take the time to regear for those huge ass tires.... even with regearing its going to be like a dog even with the v6.

    Unless this is some project truck, i highly suggest you take another look at the route you are going.

    LOL, actually I have done porn.... Got lucky in that department LOL. Im a muscle car guy but the tickets killed me, lost my licence drag racing then took up motocross for my adrenalin rush but its to hard on the body, now in my 40's time for something new

    Yep it is, The 373 are out and 456 in place. K&N cold air intake, Headers all in, waiting for bully dog to crack Toyotas 2014 PCM code for a power programmer. Last but not least Supercharger :D

    Me and one other guy, did one of these in my garage without a lift in 9 hours.
    I had previous experience with probably 20+ 3" Tacoma lifts, but never a 6", the other guy had never installed a lift kit of any kind.

    Just read the instructions ahead of time and make sure you have everything you need on hand.
