I couldnt stand it. So much gray color in this car it made you think you were stuck in the 90's. So I taped off the chrome trim around the shifter, the edge of the cup holder, and the sides. Than i just hit it with several coats of my favorite cheap BBQ paint ( gives the most even color, dries in 15 min, and has the best satin sheen ) Looks 1000000x better and makes a huge improvement overall in the taco.....now if only wet okole would hurry up and send me my black seat covers so i wouldnt have to keep using the rag covers i have.....

lol, no actually its a cheap $5.00 autozone knob. The top unscrews and the whole knob is a stash spot ;) - I like to keep a $50 in there just in case of an emergency. I never have to worry about a mechanic or anyone else getting to it this way.

Actually i also used it as a prototype knob. I plan on putting on a greddy short 6spd manual knob. The thread will go all the way to the top and hence will shorten the shifter entirely. I used epoxy putty than just used a drill to make a hole that will fit the threading on the oem stalk. Worked perfectly and holds strong. So pretty much I can use any shift knob as long as its opening is larger than the oem stalk.

I like the cordless impact driver on the floor. Those things are sweet. Nice job on the paint. No sanding or anything like that?

Wow, looks nice... I'll have to give this one a try myself as I agree with you - there is so much grey that it makes me feel like I'm in the Pacific NW.

Looks awesome. Ive been thinking about doing the same thing as well as the radio console to try to match the darker parts of the cabin. Well done!

Thanks, its not so much the color thats important to match as is the shade of reflection. Thats what makes this paint work so well. Its like an oem interior black satin

That looks really sharp. I'd been looking around for people that might have done this one either the radio console or the shifter console. I was actually thinking about painting one or the other the same impulse red as my truck, but I'm not sure how that'd look. The color you have here looks great.
