Why does adding a lift or coil overs and such void the warranty on your ride? If U take in your rig does Toyota say Oops it's not stock so here's the door?

Nope! At least with my 06' they didn't. Lets say you have put on a lift and something got jacked up, the dealership would have to prove that it was the aftermarket part that messed up your truck to void the warranty. I forgot the name of the act, but theres laws that back up the owner on stuff like that.;)

That's weird because I could have sworn that the salesman said lifting or modding my truck would void my warranty. It's been about a year now and I've finally got a raise I can sink a little extra cash into my ride. I'll have to look at the paperwork but that's great news if this act is correct. Thanks!

If your cv gets fawked after the lift odds are you'll have to pay for it. If the engine or trans takes a dump you wont. You'll probaly have to battle over a diff though.

Of course the sales man will tell you that...Cause most people don't know and get worried about losing the warranty. but like the post above mine says...If you lift it and the suspension/driveline shits the bed...You might be in for a fight. If the electrics or engine go...They have to cover it.

I bet the dealer sings a different tune if it's a "Dealer installed lift" they Ass rape you for then the warranty is still good. :rasta:

Read the fine print in your warranty. It does not say ANYTHING about a lift voiding the warranty. It does say it is void if damage is caused by an aftermarket part - and only void on the part affected.

I read my factory warranty manual and my extended warranty manual and couldn't find anything specific. I am lifting my 09, which has a 7 yr b2b and lifetime powertrain warranty. I'm not worried.

You won't find anything specific in any warranty because federal law will always supersede any manufacturers warranty.
