some of this, a little of that
I know you probably want to avoid insurance but some have a smaller deductible for vandalism, at least if you have to have it in a shop

You could call it custom pin striping?

I imagine buffing it might help some.

Sounds pretty deep. It will need to be repainted.

To make it perfect for sure, but that'll be costly. Then you have to blend to make it perfect.

If you rub your fingernail across it, does it stop your fingernail?

It takes practice but you can fill in the areas that don't buff out with clear coat. I used both 2K clear from a can and 2K spray clear from SprayMax. If using the spray clear, spray it into a cup and then apply like you would from a can: I've used a cardboard match stick cut at an angle to use as a 'brush'. Dip it in the clear and then carefully fill in the depression a little higher than the surrounding area. Then I use a razor blade (single edge) and run it across some sandpaper to make a 'hook' on the edge like a cabinet scraper that a carpenter would use. Gently scrape the excess until you are at the same level. Sand with 1500wet/dry, then to compund and finally polish and wax. It'll disappear. If the color has been removed - i.e. down to metal or primer; start with a color coat as above and then fill with clear. I believe Kevin Tetz has a video on line how to make this type of repair.

what product did you use to buff it? Chances of correcting it by hand are slim...Get a buffer or borrow one and use meguiars ultimate compound on an orange color pad....

This is the 2nd time in a couple weeks that someone in Denver has reported a keyed vehicle on TW.

Tell management what has happened and tell them you will no longer shop there. They probably will fix the problem, sounds like a lot more than coincidence.

they don't have camera's out side and state they never will due to the costs. insurance wise I have my own antique auto restoration shop so it only costs me paint and material.
the town it self has a major problem with drugs so my personal guess is kids out for kicks.
