$30 for Toyota's boot kit. Doesn't take long. Use latex gloves and lots of paper towels, it isn't all that messy. just cut the old boot off so you keep most of the grease in it. Makes sure to save the inner seal of the boot if you are doing the boot slide mod. Once the CV axles is out, maybe 30 minutes worth of work.

Honestly you should do both at the same time I think and if your truck is lifted you should get boots that are meant for higher angles. I just installed some boots from SDHQ.Great product and I would diffidently recommend them. The boots were 75 for both sides and the grease was 25. You also need a few special tools: 36mm socket, cv boot clamp pliers, a set of lock ring pliers, and some brake parts cleaner to remove the old grease from the birfeild. The tools should cost around 40-50 bucks at Napa. Do it right the first time. and if you still have oem axles I say definitely just reboot them. when you get remanufactured ones they wont necessarily be the same.

if you buy a remanufactured one there is a core charge which I think is usually more than the axle itself.

I emailed CVJ to see how much new axles would cost. its 95$ per CV and 75$ core deposit per axle (mail your axle back to get the 75$ you only have like 2 months). They also offer high angle boots for 15$ per axle. I think it was like 50$ shipping but can't remember.

This is what i will be going with.

I got a set from them, they were different then my OEM ones, I ended up sending them back and just picked up a set from napa with plans to re build my OEM ones later and swap them in when the Napa ones take a dump.

That's my issue with getting diff ones. I wanted to stick with oem and plus I know what my axles have been thru since they are oem.

Hit up all the suspension nuts/bolts/stuff with PB Blaster, again.

Blacked out the rear wheel wells.

The fronts are going to be tricker. Will have to roll on the primer/paint.

About to touch up the rear bumper and sliders.

It's probably safer there anyway.

But you'll change your mind after you stub your toes on it a couple times.

It's going to happen on the 12th.

I couldn't line my schedule up with Jace's but the good of the TW community is coming to the rescue.

BDN is going to come down and spend the day taking the lead on the install. Squeaky Penguin might be in town also.

My GF might be here to help out with watching my spawn and eyeing the ribs. I asked if she'll serve us ribs in her bikini... her look said it all. So I might just serve the ribs wearing her bikini. I dunno...

Complete OME kit w/ 881's and dakars. All-Pro Sliders, CB, HAM Radio and various other minor stuff.
If I were closer I'd give you a hand. My OME kit was scary easy to install.

After reading every friggen thread for years, looking at every component under the truck, talking to Kurt at Cruiser Outfitters, prying Jon off Ol' Red, etc...

I feel as though I could do it too.

But I know me and Murphy's Madjik's Law...therefore I want someone smarter/more experienced here with me.
