I just put my 885s, all pro standard leafs and LR UCA's on and had the tires balanced and the alignment done. My question is when I come to a stop my truck seems to rock forward and backward slightly and it didn't do that at stock. Is there something loose or is that normal for a lifted truck?

Well I can't say for certain, but it could be either axle wrap or an insufficient amount of preload on your front end. I'm leaning more towards the lack of preload on your 885's. Note that I have yet to receive my lift in the mail so I can't say for certain, however if you give it some time for your lift to bed in you might see some improvement. Maybe someone else on here can set you down the straight and narrow, just give it some time.

So you are saying there needs to be a heavier load on the 885's as I don't have any armor or plate bumper on the front end?

I have heard that most people torque u bolts to more than the requirement, like 75. I torqued everything front and back to 80.

And yeah 885s are a bit much for not weight. I think 885s called for up to 100lbs of weight? Get you an armor bumper!

I have torqued everything once. I will retorque everything again when I get home in an hour or so. So it shouldn't have the front to back sway when I stop I take it? Its like your in a rocking chair but only lasts a few seconds. Maybe a shock nut isn't tight?

Ill retorque these when I get home as well to 80. Yeah a plate bumper is in the future after I save up and get done with all this wedding/honeymoon spending. Hell it might be that I don't have enough weight like you said causing this. I need to get my skid on from Matt123 and see if that helps at all.

Hmm shock nut sounds like a good guess, but It seems like it would require more than one to be pretty loose in order for that. I bet an email to toytec or whoever sells that model lift would be good, I emailed them just earlier about UCAs and saved money by not having to buy them!

I know the three nuts are all tight on both sides, maybe the strut nut is loose

Just read your previous message. Yes a skid should be enough depending on the weight. As for the strut nuts you're getting into territory that others in this thread can help much more with

Idk I think you might just be hypercritical since you changed stuff. Usually I always think something is wrong after a mod until I get used to it. Did you get new shocks? Rocking seems like the springs are bouncing and the shocks control that.

Its not bad rocking and as stated above maybe its because I changed out so much that I am paying attention to everything way to much. I will say the u-bolts were slightly loose as well as the leaf springs bolts and everything has been re-torqued to spec. The rocking is still there and maybe it could be the springs. I guess I will have my fiancé hop in my truck and jolt the truck a bit while I watch underneath to see if I can tell if anything is moving. Not sure what I can do if it is the springs as everything is tightened down. I personally don't think the UCA's would make it do this but I could be wrong. I guess I will inspect it all again this afternoon.

On another note I had my wheels balanced they put sticky weights on the inside (inner and outer) and looks like they left some of the old ones on. There shouldn't be any problems with my balancing with the 285 70 17 toyo atIIs paired up with the Konig six shooters? My ass shakes on the seat as well as the steering well shaking back and forth from about 45-60mph. I think they just did a shitty job balancing them.

PLEASE let me know how you end up fixing your seats and wheel shaking because I have dealt with it for years. I am pretty sure it is my bent rim (20"s are the devil) but if it still shakes after my new rims and tires I will be SOL.

If you have a bent wheel and its in the rear that def is the problem. I used to work at a tire shop for years, so I know those idiots didn't balance my tires correctly and will see if they have a roadforce machine to turn the tires to the best spot.
