couple years back when I was looking at new vehicles, all the sales guys kept asking me if I was trading in the truck. Oddly,... after telling them that I had sliders welded to the frame, they stopped asking.

 

The next thing you know it'll get auctioned and someone will buy it, do some work on it and try to sell it for 6-8k

 

lol Yeeaaahhhh..... Silly. He should have been more patient and just sold it on craigslist or something. He could have easily gotten twice that in a short time period. Oh well...

 

Yep.... I know one of the salesmen at CarMax and considered asking him if I could get it for a hundred over the trade-in, and then resell it, but I'd probably just want to keep it. haha

 

when I got rid of my XJ, I just traded it in for $500. I seriously did not care, so much had gone and was wrong with it. I had 3-4 friends tell me after the fact that they would have given me a grand for it. I told them they should have been more proactive.

 

When I bought my car the salesmen at the dealership wanted to know if I was trading in my truck, cause he liked it. Told him no, I put way too much into it to trade it in. This was prior to the first rollover

I ordered a brand new MINI Cooper S in 2007 and paid $32,000 for it (thing was LOADED!). After a year of ownership I met my wife and she refused to learn how to drive a standard (I KNOW!!!) so away went the MINI. Took it to Carmax first and they offered me $17,000 for it! Fuckers. Sold it 2 weeks later private party for $28,500!!!!

Carmax is in the business of making a profit. The whole car industry is partly what keeps our economy afloat. The mark-up and mark-down (depending on which side you're on, buying or selling) is crazy.

 

Hello New mexico members! sold my 07 taco a year ago...and just had to have another one..! Ended up with a super sweet deal from toyota..and walked out with a 14' baja taco! Hope to see some of you fellas around!

Wow! KBB puts it at 25k for excellent condition. Just amazing how they hold value.

 

There's no way, that's gotta be an error on KBB or something! No freakin' WAY a 10 year old truck is worth 4/5 of what a new one runs.

Hello everyone!

New to the taco world. I did a little off roading a little down at Montessa last weekend. Never done that before and the soft sand didn't help. But, I never got stuck because my truck is just that awesome.

A couple threads back someone mentioned helping clean up Puerco. I've never been there, but count me in. Same with Montessa. I hate how messy it is there, little kids are trying to have fun over there too. Where would someone dump all the trash? I live in an apartment and I think the owners would be angry if I kept filling up their dumpsters...
