I may or may not have accidently gravity bleed my entire brake system while I had my rear axles out, so now in the process of bleeding my brakes with a mityvac.

My question is am I always going to be getting foamy bubbles coming out or is it going to smooth out and bleed normally. The only reason I ask is because ive never used a vac bleeder before and dont know what to expect.

 

There will almost always be foamy bubbles thanks to a loose fitting at the bleeder screw. My concern is your master cylinder. You may have to remove it and bench bleed it. You made a good amount of work for yourself.

 

I would try the 2 person ,pump & hold..

 

This works well for me. Don't forget to bleed the proportioning valve. But like Jason said if air bubbles got into the MC a bench bleed might be necessary.

 

Dont tell me that. Im still pulling a good amount of air from the rear lines and the front seem fine. Im almost down a whole bottle of fluid though.

Im also thinking this is wasted effort because the clicking noise is still there so im gonna have to pull the axle again at some point.

And jim ive tried the 2 person method in junction with the vac.

 

Use one or the other, not both. The 2 person method is the best, time tested method. Pump, pump, hold. If I cant bleed using a mighty vac, I switch to having someone help me.

 

Yeah the pump pump got some pedal back. Im about to hop in the truck again and if there is no improvement im done for the night.

How do I always fuck up something that I wasnt working on.

I don't think so. I would say crap luck and frustration. That's probably what led him to forget to block off the line.

 

More like a bit of ignorance. I didnt block the lines the first time either. What happened this time was I dropped the rear end all the way down so I could back the truck all the way into the garage and I left it down all night so when I came out the next morning there was a puddle around the rear axle.

Just drove it and it is road worthy but I dont feel like I have rear brakes. Now that could just he because they are out of adjustment or there is still to much air back there.

 

So much plasti dip, Alfuh would be proud. Saw the vette on the road and the tundra at the shop today.

 

you know...I would have never expected to be so involved with plasti dip lol, yesterday was the first time in awhile I messed with plasti dip, I had dipped the accessory piece around the shifter and put a clear coat over it...looks really nice. But I have been thinking about going back and properly painting the grille...I had kinda half assed color matching it



also Jason for that little plastic piece with all the letters/numbers for park/reverse/1st,2nd, etc on it, would I be able to just purchase that piece and replace it....that indicator piece has so much paint scratched it looks so horrible just looking at it

Whoo hoo! Colson is the man! Sitting here at work starring at a 60" hi lift. Trying to figure where the heck can i possibly store this thing.

 

Just figured out, its not a true Hi Lift. It looks like its a Toronto Big Red from northern tools. But still saved $20 off normal price, so I'm good with it. Figures a Cl ad would lie.

PS I think I saw the front Tranny Cooler on my truck this morning, so maybe I have the tow package...?

 

sounds reasonable, also easy to spot the oil cooler lines, right under the oil filter
