I just purchased (waiting on delivery) a Leer 100xr for my 13 TRD DCSB with 30k miles. To those with a Cap and stock suspension, upon installation, did you have the dreaded "Bro Lean". I am going to change out the suspension, just curious as to how fast I need to order it as I really hate that lean. Also, any recommendations prior or during installation of the cap that I should be aware of or prepare for? things to look out for?

I would do an AAL, especially a progressive (3 leaf) in order to maintain the rake, keep the ass end from bottoming out so easy (our trucks are not so "trucky") IMHO..... the progressive aal with 3 thin leaves will yield a more compliant ride than a single thick AAL.

    Ive have had stock suspension

    stock with TSB

TSB with 1.5 single AAL, 5100's

TSB, plus Icon progressive AAL with 5100s.

    the latter wins

I only have the 4 leaf pack (TSB) and I've experienced no sagging/lean with my Leer 180, even loaded with a canoe & gear.

Just remember to take the bulbs out of the third brake light on the back of the cab.

I have the ARE Z series. I had minimal sag after instalation. I did upgrade my suspension, for the back I put in a Icon 3 leaf progressive pack. I love it.

Also if you are installing the cap, these are the instructions I used to wire my third brake light.:)

Remove two 10mm bolts to remove taillight assembly. Pull straight rearward to reomve taillight. then make following connections

    Green/red = brake light
green (right next to it) - works when parking lightsare on = dome light wire (you would have to go to battery for dome light on anytime make sure you use a fuse within a foot of the battery)
    white/black = ground

There is a gap between the bedcaps and the bed (rear metal upright) large enough for 3 wires to fit. You can fish them out from inside the tailght.

For quick disconnect capabilities you will always have a connector there (so it will as clean as your imagination its just wires) . If you don't have a "quick disconnect just get a 4flat trailor harness loop and use it (they come in 48'' lengths).

I just sold my topper yesterday and went to a roll up cover. One major dissapointment upon removal.....

The plastic bed cap rubbed the paint off at several points around the box... due to the weight of the topper... now i have rust beginning right there. Ill have to pop the caps off and touch up those areas but rust will likely start spreading from there in the years to come...

I would recommend to pop the bed caps off and put some sort of rubber liner in between the caps and the paint on your truck before installing the topper.. not sure what that rubber liner would be, but you could get creative...
