So I got my permanent registration. I picked up a camp stove from Costco and got a couple long ram jacks for the rack elevation. I've got the rack designed and drawn out. Now I need to find some consultation on the materials. I'm 90 % convinced that aluminum is the way to go but I'm not sure what size, wall thickness, etc. I'm looking for a 1000 lb. weight capacity. Any body have any insight on aluminum strength and size requirements?

Man this is exactly the same trailer I was looking for. I was wondering if a quad would fit in the trailer. Curious on the dimensions.

Better to ask what I have not done.

Looks good!! Keep us informed on the telescoping poles I am trying to figure out it to because the metal I bought has a weld running through it from the forming process.

this is quite old thread so heres hoping your still on here. Just won one today on iron planet government auction for $625, if I am seeing correct you didn't have to buy anything but the Pintle insert and it rides pretty level. I don't have the 3" lift so would you recommend anything or will the Pintle insert do fine? I have 5100's for shocks and 265x75x17 tires so I am thinking (hoping) it will ride fine without having to get the pintle riser plate.

With my setup I have a three inch lift, 32" tires, and the all pro rear bumper which moves the hitch about 6-8" higher than the stock hitch. I also have air bags in the rear the help with any droop. My truck is up for sale by the way:thumbsup:

Nice! I love my M1101. Mine will have a rack and a CVT RTT on it. I'll also be doing something very similar with the slide outs on the floor. Life has been crazy this last year but I'm hoping I can get mine built completely in the next six months, RTT and all.

I sold my 37" and I went to a 33" tire. Makes it easier to get out of.

The front of the trailer has a opening where I put my sleeping bags and blankets. Then I use one of the fenders as my tool storage for my shovel and stuff. I have outdoor carpet on top and the wood I used bed liner to cover it.

trailer is 7'X7.5', pretty sure a quad would fit.

I used to be an Aircraft Mechanic, most Aircraft skins are .30 and .40 aluminum, they use primarily .30 with a second skin routed out and "glued" to the outer skin, obviously you wouldn't be able to do that, if only we all had a fully functional sheetmetal shop with a power press to make ribs and such for a lightweight strong shell.
anyway, watching every move you guys make, I would like to buy the canvas top so I can shorten it but if your trailer doesn't come with, good luck finding one that the seller doesn't want the price of a trailer for. (paid $625 for my trailer from Ft Campbell)

Good things about these trailers is the stands to support it. So you don't need them attached to the truck to load them with a quad. I wanted to build a top to hall a quad but I have my truck bed.
