What have you done to your Tacoma today? 1st Gen Edition

Yes! got my misalignment spacers from filthy motorsports for my king shocks!

Ive been waiting since april 20th (my bday) for this.. haha



All in all i had a really good experience with them. Great customer service and when they messed up my order (with the above spacers) they fixed it and 2 day mailed me these. I had to ride w/o shocks for a while and it wasn't as bad as i thought it would be haha. It was kinda fun and bouncy.

 

I haven't had rear shocks for a month, not to bad. Fox's are going on next week

 

So... I can get a tuff stuff 10.5 or 12.5 (can't remember) winch for free... Just gotta pay the shipping. Yay or nay? Would put off my rear bumper and mid/tcase skid off a bit.... Thoughts?

The guy at BAMF said he went w/o shocks for like 3 months haha. Nice.

I can see how that could happen cause on the freeway any big bumps really make it pretty bouncy.

Ive lost control before. Definitely can agree on the not fun part.

Dude.. Do it! 125 for a winch is a great deal (it has like 4 1/2 stars on Amazon too). If it came down to it you could pay for the shipping and then sell it on craigslist or on here for 2x as much lol. IMO you should get some synthetic line for it though whenever you get a chance.

 

my buddy had a blow out in the presidio (a federal park in SF) and he ended up swerving into a 8" - 12" wall at about 25 - 35 mph. He broke one of his control arms or something because his wheel ended up stuck up in his wheel well. He ended up selling it for 1000. Barely a 100k pre runner. Boy i wish he woulda told me he was selling it before he sold it.

He ended up w/ a DUI and is on federal probation for about 3x years. (he had like 3x beers.)

 

anyone ever had any problems with dumping the exhaust before the axle? only concern i can think of would be heating the axle tube a bit when idling..... big deal?

 

never heard of any problems come from it. highly doubt that it will affect the axle at all.

 

i didnt think so.... it is nice to have no exhaust over the axle tho, no more tappin it when i flex

 

Yea I'm sure you will be fine cutting it if you want to. I personally didn't like it under the truck so i did a bedside outlet exhaust. still need to clean it up a bit but i like how it came out. It sounds 10x better than when its under the bed IMO.

 

Yes, the rear end wants to get squirrelly when I hit bumps at speed, make me feel like I'm driving a rally car. I've been avoiding the freeway.

 

im just worried the exhaust gasses could hurt the axle tube or wiring somehow?

 

Myself, I wouldn't do it. I'm not a fan of dumping hot exhaust where it wasn't intended to go. I've seen what it does to stainless steel. No idea what it'd do to the paint on the axle, depending on where you're cutting it. I'd either get it custom routed between the spring pack and the frame or get the magnaflow cat back kit or similar which does that for you.

 

i think im gonna roll with it for a while and keep an eye on things.... i bet itll be ok. its mostly to get it away from the suspension, tired of hitting the exhaust....

 

Red (President_Redz or something on here) did a really nice custom exhaust job. Ran it through where the spare tire wrenches are and exits at the bottom of the xcab panel.

 

Shock relocation complete! Yes!

Now I just need a ubolt flip some top plate spacers and some new CV's!



Then I stacked all the bricks I had to test the flex out a little haha





I'm very happy with both King shocks(filthy motorsports) and BAMF's shock relocation kit. Came out great .

 

Looks killer. Urban flexing goes extreme

 

I'm not worried about mine *shrug* but it is past acle

 

Thanks! I prolly coulda stack 2x that amount of bricks if I had more haha.. I'm tempted to go to Home Depot and ask them to use their fork lift to test my flex but not sure if they would do that lol.
I was so stoaked that I set it up in my driveway and I left it parked like that for now lol.
