What have you done to your Tacoma today? 1st Gen Edition

Thanks! I prolly coulda stack 2x that amount of bricks if I had more haha.. I'm tempted to go to Home Depot and ask them to use their fork lift to test my flex but not sure if they would do that lol.
I was so stoaked that I set it up in my driveway and I left it parked like that for now lol.

My exhaust is pointed almost directly at my axle, no problems. I know the pressure under a vehicle at speed is much lower than on top, but I would think the air stream that's flowing under the vehicle at speed would carry the hot exhaust gas straight back, thus keeping the axle cool. That's what logic is telling me at least.

 

I am sure it has been asked enough but does anyone know if I could run 285/75R16 tires on a 16X8 6-139.7 -6MTB size rim?

Did the cig lighter always on mod today.. Used my old hunting license to wedge in there between the contacts. Worked like a charm

 

Mine is a 2003 and the e-brake stuff runs below the leaf pack.

Not sure what the difference is then but some are on top and some are below

 

It is something Toyota changed around quite a bit. On my '02, it runs above the axle and above the springs.

 

Have you checked out those Baja taco e brake extenders? Took me like 30 minutes to make em.

Looks pretty similar. The thing is what if the frame rails are closer together/further apart.. Why risk it if BAMF's kit is reasonably priced?

Although it wouldn't matter as much if it were longer cause you could just cut it down but if it's too short then your pretty much SOL

It also doesn't look as strong and has one less mounting hole than BAMF's kit. Not to mention BAMF's kit is made from 1/4" while that is made from 3/16". I don't mind paying a little extra if i know it will be the quality i want.

 

I have 4 different shock angle capabilities on my rear shocks, but will probably never change them. It rides fine where I have them so I don't really care to experiment.

Edit: the low range kit is about 80 - 100$ for upper and lower shock mounts. Coulda just said it was about half the price.. If you want me to measure how long the BAMF one is so you can compare them let me know.

I'd like something simpler for the shock relocation, but tbh, the bamf unit is reasonably priced *shrug*
